the confirmation email for store pick up includes a link to a page that reads;

What to expect.

If you've reserved your iPhone, we will set it aside on the date you nominate and have it waiting for you in-store***

*** If you do not collect your iPhone on the specified date, your reservation will be cancelled and the iPhone will be returned to stock.


Also the confirmation email says specifically that the reservation will be held to close of business on 24th, so I am not worried that they won't have one for me

I've done the same as most. Reserved one until I see O2's prices...

I'm going to pre-order from somewhere most likely as my new car gets delivered the same day so I won't be able to drive to the nearest Apple Store otherwise I may miss my car delivery!! haha.

I've ordered a sim free black iPhone 4 for delivery by apple. Wondering if its the right thing, as will almost definitely be staying on o2 so may have been better to wait and get one on o2 PAYG at a cheaper price and/or free wifi/3g thrown in for a year (if thats what they'll do)

I've done the same thing, I suppose the main thing is to wait and see if the 12 months wifi/3g is thrown in with Orange/O2.

Any suggestion where I'll find a carrier with a reasonable payg tariff (one unlinked to a bank account) and an instantly available microsim .

I went into town just to preorder an iphone via 3, who told me on the phone 45 minutes before I could do so to be told it had been retracted and 3 are reviewing their pricing!

Sounds like 3, the worst staff in the world. They refused to sell me am HTC Desire a few weeks back, even though they had them in stock, because they made more in commission if they sold them on contract !

Also very professional, last week 2 staff playing football in the empty store with a plastic bag taped up! Why they thought no one could see them through the HUGE glass windows was a mystery.

I'll never set foot in any of there stores again.

If you want to reserve one on o2, orange or voda p4u have them, reserve for £5.
CPW didnt have any.

Only 16GB black available at Apple now. 16GB white and both 32GB models now showing as unavailable

No doubt they will all be available if you turn up at the store first thing on 25th though after all the 'returned to stock' reservations have been processed
