Saw this rather in the reserve email...

Pre-authorization does not guarantee iPhone availability at an Apple Retail Store. iPhone is sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

So what, I have to queue up like an idiot at 7am then?

If so what's the point of reserving?

I have just ordered a 32 GB phone on sim free from Apple, so they still have stock for 24th June release.

Question, do I still have the 14days to cancel the order. Just in case the network providers come out with an amzing offer nearer the time.

Yes. You actually have 7 days after you receive the phone to cancel (by law) - although the money would have left your account by then!

I'll be 'annoyed' if they don't reserve one for me. It says that stock will be held until the close of business so I expect it to be.

I wonder if we'll have to queue up to get in or whether we can go straight in as we have already reserved it.

Do o2 currently offer a MicroSIM card on any of their Simplicity tariffs?

Correct, 14 days to change your mind :D

Who knows, my "reserve" will be being returned to stock, I have no intention of queuing up outside the Apple store at 7am in order to ensure I get my reserved item.

You can still order via the Apple website, so I just placed an order. Maybe they won't be able to supply it on the 24th but at least I won't have to take a trip to Manchester to "possibly" get one.

Nobody know yet. Maybe this is where the £449/£549 will come in?

Sim Free will be much more valuable when you come to sell it if you can afford the Apple pricing.

They may be worth more however o2 have seemingly changed their policy on unlocking PAYG iPhones, £15 regardless of how long you've owned it but you will lose the free web and wifi bolt on.

Based on that there would be a saving of around £35 for an o2 PAYG rather than SIM only.

This was for previous iPhones IMHO. Apple have never sold Sim free handsets before so it's my guess that you won't be able to unlock an iPhone 4 via O2 unless the fee to do it matches the sim free cost
