Kgbdeals [text removed by MSE Forum Team] THEIR CODES DO NOT WORK!

• I signed up to KGB 2 days ago to get their City Car Club deal as mentioned on here. The voucher code didn't work at first so I emailed them at support@kgbdeals.com and they replied a few hours later, seems it can take up to 72 hours for the code to be activated. However, today the code has worked and I have my City Car Club membership set up. Definitely not a scam and a pretty good service if you ask me!

Yet another ridiculously inflated value on a KGB deals "deal" to make it seem like a heavily discounted offer when it isn't:

"£17.99 for a three month supply of Slimming Acai Super 1200 tablets worth £138.99 from Cleanse & Detox - save 87% and enjoy a host of health benefits"
http://www.kgbdeals.co.uk/national/deals/21453/three-month-supply-of-slimming-acai-super-1200-tablets---cleanse--detox---national

How can they possibly be worth £138.99 when the exact same product is £8.99 on amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Super-Strength-1200mg-Weight-Burning/dp/B003NHLH1S/1567

In fact amazon also has 2 bottles for £12.98 with free delivery so buying 3 bottles on amazon for the equivalent quantity would cost a total of £21.97 delivered while the KGB deals "deal" would cost more at £22.98 delivered!

So the claimed value of the deal: £138.99 is totally misleading and therefore the claimed "savings" of 87% are false.

The site offering the "deal" (Cleanse & Detox) also uses a fake before and after photo (as used on several fake news acai scam websites recently sued by the FTC) as well as making a number of totally unsubstantiated health claims: http://www.cleanseanddetox.co.uk/

The website is also registered to a UK individual and not a company:
http://whois.domaintools.com/cleanseanddetox.co.uk
"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."

I agree they tend to inflate their comparison prices to make the deal look good. It looks bad and isn't a good strategy in the long run.

On the plus side, my problem with the Empire DVD rental guys not honouring the Cineworld tickets was finally cleared up, Tom (who posted earlier in this thread) sorted it out for me.

Is this a scam? I've tried to redeem a valid KGB voucher and the site's telling me it's expired. The wine's around double shop prices so I'm mad

I have purchased these deals on more than one occasion, and only had a problem with one.
When I contacted KGB, they immediately offered me a refund, or they would credit my account with the amount that I had spent.
I ahve since bought another deal, and the credit I had was applied to the deal in full.:T

I run an entertainments company and they told me tyo put my prices up over what they usually are so that the deal seems better!!!

They are rude on the phone and never reply to my emails as a merchant.

I also had a call from their manager shouting at me (i mean literally) because I wanted to cancel the deal. Until i mentioned about cancelling I had no date from them of when my offer would go live, this appeared as soon as the cancel email was sent!!!
AMAZING!

I wouldnt spend a penny of my money with these cowboys!
• I bought a deal with them, and then when i ordered the product i had to pay extra for postage, and then it never arrived and i tried to contact kgb and the company and no one would talk to me grrrrr
• The same with me, and it took postage from me twice!!!

Why have you replied to yourself?
• We had a phone call from them and the lady worked her charm and convinced us it was a good idea, we could pool the vouchers into when we wanted them to come and hence boost our off peak sales.

What she didn't say was the HUGE impact these things have, she didn't take the time to really tell us that for our tiny office, in our home was going to be inundated with calls and emails non stop until the end of the deal, I have never experienced anything like it and hope I never will again.

On I think it was day 4, I was obsessive over the amunt we were selling, too much, tried contacting them to get them to put on No weekends left for 12 months, they just said well extend vouchers to 2013, bad business for us, by day 5 tried to get them to pull the deal, I was told they could do this at any time, the marketing guy I spoke to was incredibly aggressive, and ultimately agreed to cap the sales when it got to our maximum we felt we could do.

Would I do it again, no, it was just a nightmare, but on the flip side we have received masses of publicity and reached an audience we would never have reached, I do wish I ahd taken the time to research them as a company first, I think I would have sencond thoughts, but they really need to explan to who ther are selling the sheer scale of what they will be expected to do!
