I used their site to take up the audio book deal that was advertised on the MSE newsletter a couple of weeks ago. They have taken £9 from my bank but I can't access the deal code. I've emailed at least twice but no response at all. Found some contact details at the end of their terms and conditions page. Unsurprisingly, they didn't answer the call and I was only given an option to leave a message. I'll be making a Visa Debit Chargeback claim if I don't hear from them within 24 hours: http://www.kgbdeals.co.uk/company/terms

• I've just used my Symposium wines voucher with no problem - I'v bought tons of KGB Deals and have only had a problem with a couple of them which they gave always sorted out...

Its definitely NOT a scam as my deals I have bought and enjoyed are a testimony to that , the cupcake calories on my hips , the pizza and wine deals and pain of having my legs waxed are as real as the deals are! lol

And all on the PROPER cheap - So I'm not complaining - Its allowed me to enjoy a lifestyle of eating out etc that I would have found really HARD in my present financial circumstances and this financial climate too!!

( The CS e-mail is customersupport_london@kgbdeals.com I'm not sure of the phone number ... but I DID have it / use it before in fact they rang me back about a deal query I had!! )

Why are KGB deals getting involved with these dodgy deals with acai pill and teeth whitening companies?

Here is another one: their current national deal: Acai "slimming" pills "worth £99.98" - for £19.98. Worth £100!? BS of course - you can find the exact same product on ebay for £5.89 a bottle (so £11.78 for equivalent quantity - that's half the "deal price" and a tenth of what KGB deals claims the deal is "worth").

Not to mention the fact that there is no evidence whatsoever that taking Acai results in weight loss and yet KGB deals claims that "Many customers have experienced inch-loss of up to 40 pounds in one month".

Another current national deal - Smile Sensation teeth whitening kit "worth £102.99", but you can buy the same thing here for £13.99!
http://www.1st4buyers.co.uk/product374446_1144270.aspx

The domain smilesensation.co.uk was only registered 1 month ago to a non-trading individual:
Domain name: smilesensation.co.uk
Registrant: Rizwan Goheer
Registrant type: UK Individual
Registrant's address:
The registrant is a non-trading individual who has opted to have their
address omitted from the WHOIS service.
Relevant dates:
Registered on: 26-Feb-2011
http://whois.domaintools.com/smilesensation.co.uk

No address or names are provided on their website either, just a mobile phone number.

"The following checklist covers the main items that are required for businesses trading online.
Full company details:
Business Name
UK geographic address
Contact email address"
From: http://www.glassraven.com/articles/online-legal-requirements.php

The teeth whitening website and the acai pills website have none of this information and therefore are breaking the law.

KGB deals also have an acai wrinkle "deal" from a website registered to a "non-trading individual who has opted to have their address omitted from the WHOIS service" - here is the about us page of the website offering the "deal":
http://www.iwanttopayless.co.uk/index.php/about-magento-demo-store

Says it all really!

Furthermore, if you look at the product offered in this "deal" (Acai Anti-Wrinkle Capsules) and check the ingredients list you will see that it does not even contain any Acai!
http://www.iwanttopayless.co.uk/index.php/catalog/product/view/id/8069/s/acai-anti-wrinkle-capsules-2-months-supply-120-capsules/

As with the other "deals" the claimed value "worth £99.98" is also greatly exaggerated - a search on Google shopping shows several US websites selling the identical product for around $15 (about £10).
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=maritzmeyer+anti-wrinkle#q=maritzmayer+anti-wrinkle&hl=en&prmd=ivns&source=univ

These cheap made in China acai pills and teeth whitening kits can be found on Chinese wholesaler website for a few dollars/pounds per unit - which shows that the claims of KGB deals that they are worth £100 are ridiculous. If you really must buy this stuff then go to iherb.com and you can get brand name made in the US acai pills for just over £4 a bottle - don't expect to lose any weight though. KGB deals are really devaluing their brand by offering rip-off "deals" like this.

KGB deals scam? Depends on how you define scam, but it certainly misleading advertising and a rip-off.

Good find on the whitening deal, but there's a slight difference: the KGB deal includes 4 syringes, the link you found only 3 (still massively deceptive advertising though).

I've had one bad one with KGB, an Empire Movies rental deal (cheap 1st month) that was supposed to include 6 months' worth of free Cineworld cinema tickets if you paid full price for an extra month (which I did). Not only was their service crap, they never sent out the tickets. Had to chase them several times. Finally several months later, they sent out a letter asking me to fill in all my details (which they already had!) and snail mail it to some PO Box. I sent it recorded and it got there in January, nothing ever came of it. Of course I froze the account after the 2nd month, and then cancelled it, so now they don't even reply anymore.

I asked KGB to contact them and sort it out, they didn't want to get involved but reluctantly claimed they phoned their original contact (dubious), but never got a reply. They also claimed the free tickets where an 'add-on by the retailer', and so they weren't responsible. As that 'add-on' was listed in the deal itself, it clearly wasn't. They didn't even offer to refund the deal, pointing instead to their terms which techincally (but not morally) gets them out of it. Very poor.

To be fair, as others have said, not sure this company are 'Scammers'

However it makes me wonder why MSE are happy to have them, and other companies called scammers in the thread titles yet fall over themselves in their rush to lock any thread calling out real scumbags and scammers.

Seems scum always have the most vocal lawyers eh?
• I should have read these posts prior to purchasing a deal for my mother and I.
Like another post I have paid for my voucher and have not recieved it into my account. As Tom from KGB suggested to call and/or e-mail on the details provided, I have done so and the number jus rings and goes to answer machine, and I have recieved no reply to my e-mail....

I'm really disappointed, really hoped this was not a scam as I would have used the service over and over again...
• I got through to customer services on the number Tom provided this afternoon. It appears I had a typo error (on e-mail address), they had it sorted and a voucher was e-mailed over shortly after.... Thanks KGB
• I still have not had a reply to the e-mail customersupport_london@kgbdeals.com but once I got through on 08000 118 012 the problem was sorted in 5mins

Dear all,
My name is Tom and I am the community manager here at kgbdeals.
I have seen your posts and noted that our customer support details were not clear.
Here are the correct details:
customersupport_london@kgbdeals.com or call 08000 118 012

Tom

Hi Tom. You really should get clearance from the MSE team before you post trying to help on here..

And if you are the manager i would get them to heavily edit this thread as it claims your scammers.
