OMG, I'm so sorry, Won't say what I'm saying at this end. Honestly I can assure you I am never this dim usually!!!!

Can I ask one question before I commence. There are two accounts showing when I open up Windows, one with my name and another not in my name.

Could this be causing me some of the problems as it looks like some things are going to my account and others to the other account. Both passwords are the same although both accounts have different things within them.

Can I remove these accounts to enable me just to come on pc and do the things you are instructing in the same place. Hope that makes sense.

Just concentrate on the instructions, you are about to wipe the thing (hopefully)

I had an Internet connection problem. :) Ok, can you run test again? This time without the USB drive attached. If the results are exactly the same, let me know; there will be no need to write them out again.
If they are different, write them out again. :)

If they were the same, run the test again, but this time enter; DSRFIX /PBR4 (The space is important). :)

Publish the results here. Boring I know. Won't be long now.

If you only have the one machine, no. Just start the download before you go to bed, but after you have completed the tests. :)

Ok, let forget about the Recovery Partition :( We'll go ahead with the XP MCE 2005 installation.. Did you download and save the Drivers from the website and save them to CD? There were a lot of them. :) At a minimum, you need to have done so with the Network Drivers. You really need to do this or you might not have any Internet access once you have completed installation of XP MCE.
What method are you currently using to connect to the Internet?
