    We shall see......................
  • I just thought I'd update everyone with the latest news regarding my refund.

    There isn't any news.

I still have had nothing from TESCowememoney.

28th March "You should receive your refund by 25th May". (The delay itself was disgraceful).
    9th OCTOBER "Speechless".

Anyone out there in a similar situation, or is it just me?:(
  • Still nothing.

No email, no money, no cheque, nothing.

    From anyone.

We now shop at Waitrose (which price-matches Tesco on more than 1000 products according to their latest TV ad).
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
  • After a prompt from me two days ago I received an email back from TESCO:-

It stated that as Otelo are now involved I will have to wait until they (Otelo) complete their investigation.

  • I am about to request a refund for just under £10 credit that was left on my account. What would be the best email address to start with.

I don't hold out much hope for a refund on the 6 phones I purchased for family both here and in the States........... I don't think i've ever felt so ripped off.
  • customer.service@tesco.co.uk

is the address I am using at the moment.

You have to try there first before you go to Otelo.

Otelo have asked if I am prepared to accept an offer. I am thinking about it.

Good luck with your fight. I hope you have plenty of patience.
  • Thanks Incommunicado, thats the first (of what I fully expect to be many) email sent.

Where I come from, what they have done is sometimes called FRAUD but mainly its just called THEFT

    Good luck
  • On the 30th November, I finally received my refund cheque.

This sorry tale started on the 28th March, when I received notification of the closure of their telephone service.

By the 30th of August I gave up chasing TESCO and contacted OFCOM / OTELO.

On the 15th October TESCO made an initial offer, which I reluctantly accepted. OTELO continued to work on my behalf.

I accepted an improved offer, and TESCO agreed to deal with it within 28 days.

    They failed.

After OTELO pushed harder I eventually received my satisfactory cheque and very perfunctory apology. I got the feeling that it was "standard apology letter number 3".

To summarise, after OFCOM and OTELO were involved, TESCO eventually paid me my money back.

Please remember, it was my money, that they'd had for 8 months. This was not a claim for faulty goods. There was no dispute that I was owed the money.

TESCO simply have an appalling Customer Service Department, and I would advise any prospective TESCO customer to read this sorry story, and act accordingly.

    Take your money elsewhere.

Good luck to all other TESCO Customers trying to get redress.
Stick at it, you might be lucky.
