No Refund from Tesco Internet Phone

  • Me too! Finally received £10 then a further £20 moneycards.
  • Well OTELO turned out to be another waste of space, no response from them at all.

Terry Leahy wrote today saying he agrees that the inconvenience I have been caused is not acceptable. He has forwarded my correspondence to Bridget Perez and is confident my complaint will be responded to appropriately.

That'll make a nice change then.

On the 30th June Tesco said the refund "will be on its way to you shortly". 25 days later and nothing!

I think they told everybody that "you were one of the few" who didn't receive the original intended cheque. If that is true, they can't blame sheer numbers for not sending it "shortly".

I sent a polite email to them on the 19th July and with the now typical contempt for their customers, there has been no reply or acknowledgement.

I wonder how much Tesco pay people to sit and ignore emails.

I think I will do the same as that.

Today I have called about every customer service department, going for tesco (kept getting passed through to departments that didn't want to know).

I am still waiting for an illusive £15 moneycard, which now longer covers the amount of time spent, sending e-mail after e-mail (un-answered) trying to talk to someone on the phone :(

To be fair to OTELO they have now responded. They will only deal with the lack of refund, they are not concerned with the withdrawal of the service, which comes under OFCOM.
  • On the 30th March we were promised a refund cheque which would arrive on the 25th May.

    We are still waiting.

We were then promised a Tesco Card. That is no use to us.
We are still waiting for the cheque.

Disgraceful, appalling customer service. They sold equipment that is now a heap of junk. They failed to maintain a service.

They left their customers in the lurch, and then they prevaricate with a paltry refund.

My advice? Avoid TESCO unless you want the worst customer service.

All I want is my money back that they promised months ago.

Until I caught sight of this thread I didn't know that Tesco internet phone was now defunct.

I only use it to call my children when they are out of the country. I haven't used it in months but I have £7 (or thereabouts) in credit, floating around somewhere. Can anyone advise how I can get it back. I have never received anything from Tesco saying that the service was terminatling! No emails or letters, nothing, nada!

    Thanks.

    "Customer Liaison" (Seriously!)

    Or:-

at the same address, would be my suggestion for a start. Give the Telephone Number when you write, but don't expect miracles.

    Happy Hunting!
  • After numerous e-mails to Tesco without reply i sent a to be "signed"" for letter and still no response so phoned customer services today and said that as it appears Tesco do not have the funds to repay me (approx £75) then i shall apply to the court to have them compulsory wound up unless payment is made soon. They record all calls and i requested that my call be heard by the company secretary. Their response was that their e-mail system had failed and they have over 2000 requests for refunds and are soon to deal with these , but i assume as a very low priority.

I too have sent numerous emails and made several phone calls to no avail.
I sent 7 emails during July, 1 email in June and 1 email in May. In fact, it has cost more in time than they owe me; the phone calls were free, I suppose that's something to be glad about.
  • Indeed, both of my accounts were also "one of the few" that didn't receive their refund. Still nothing received, Tesco keeps promising a Moneycard refund (which I have rejected) within 7 days for one of my accounts, while persistently ignoring the second (which I also never received an email notification of the cessation of service for).

Otelo have finally got back to me with their formal complaint form, scraping by just within their 15 working day response time. I am pursuing that route, given that it is over 8 weeks since my complaint against Tesco started, and there is no end in sight.
