I got a moneycard in the mail; it's an apology of sorts, but it ain't a refund!
• We are still waiting, Mr. TESCO.

Customer Service?

I don't think so.

Customer Care?

I don't think so.

All I want back is MY MONEY which YOU have had for over SIX months.
You closed the telephone service,
you were not capable of dealing with it,
you have totally screwed up.

You have promised refunds which have not arrived.
• Ref My Post #29

On the day that the 6 week deadline to receive cheque from Tesco was up.
I received £15 Tesco Moneycard in post sent to the wrong address.
I Sent following email.
Sir Terry Leahy

I have today collected a letter from the post office as it was wrongly addressed to 36 and not 38.
On opening the letter I have found that Tesco have sent me £15 in Tesco Moneycard vouchers, I requested a cheque which I have been waiting 6 weeks for and your deadline for me to receive this, is no later than today 13th August 2010 also it should be for £20 not £15 as sent in vouchers.
I am not surprise of Tesco’s continued incompetence in the matter.

I do not except this as payment or of Tesco's attempt to settle this matter and request a name and address
so I can return these voucher to Tesco.

Received following email back.
Thank you for your email which has been forwarded by Paul Milligan. I am incredibly disappointed that this matter is still ongoing as I was promised that your cheque had been requested when we last corresponded. Unfortunately this was not the case and your cheque was requested last week and should take a fortnight to reach you.
Once again, I am very sorry that this issue is still ongoing and you have been caused such inconvenience.
Yours sincerely,
Bridget P!rez
Customer Services Executive

Sir Terry Leahy / Paul Milligan

It is not acceptable to wait any longer, please arrange for this money to be with me today.

Today 16/08/10
Received phone call from a very apologetic Paul Milligan who said that he would like to bring this matter to an end and so I was not waiting any longer he would like to pay £30 into my bank using my debit card and that he would like me to keep the £15 Moneycard, which I have accepted.
He also promised that Tesco would be looking into this total mess that has happened with the closure of Internet Phone.
Hope this helps anyone else still trying to get their money back.
• I received (yet) another apologetic email from someone (or some computer) at TESCO.

They / it wrote to the effect that...
I will pass the correspondence on to the department concerned.

It was "The department concerned" that screwed up in the first place!

Is this level of service good enough?
Is there nobody at TESCO that can take the executive decision to simply say
"PAY IT NOW- The customer comes first"?
They have agreed that they owe the money.
They have offered an amount.
I agreed to that amount at the time.
(I feel very tempted to chase them through the Small Claims Court, and charge them expenses and fees).

How much longer, Mr. Tesco?
How much longer Sir Terry Leahy?

This might seem like "Petty Cash" to you, but I might be tempted to call it petty larceny.
• Could the sale of the equipment to operate the Tesco Internet Telephone constitute a claim under The Sale Of Goods Act?

i.e.
Mine is not fit for purpose. It doesn't work.

If they say that there is a clause in the contract of sale........ regarding 'continuity of service'..... so they can get out of it all....

would that constitute 'unfair terms'?

Emailing Terry Leahy Terry.Leahy@uk.tesco.com finally did it for me.
• Emailing him did nothing for me except I was passed on to someone else.
That was a week ago and I have heard nothing.

Excellent service?

No.
• OK;
here's a question to Martin. :money:

What can I do now?

A call to the small claims court?

A threat of a lawyer's letter.

A call from a bailiff to a "TESCO store near you" with notification to the media?

All I want is my money back.

NOW

Sorry to shout, but I've had enough.
• For those interested in the sorry tale, please read on...

It is now two weeks since I was told by email that they would contact me 'directly'.

This they have failed to do.

It is now five months since the first intimation of the demise of their ill-fated system.

It is now three months since I was promised a refund.

I am very glad I don't have shares in TESCO.
• I have received an email with the statement that a cheque has been drawn on the 24th August, which I should receive soon.

It will still cost me to deal with it, however it is more use than a TESCO Money-Card.

IF it arrives.
