Morning Diary

Collected the Focus last night, but there's something not right with the steering, so I've rung the garage and arranged to take it back in tomorrow. I'm hoping it's not another fault, and just something they've not put back right.
This last lot of repairs cost £650 (probably more than the stupid car is actually worth, but having just replaced mine we can't replace DH's as well), and we really really can't afford for anything else to be wrong. Thank goodness we're a year post-LBM though, or we'd be utterly screwed by all these car problems. As it is, I think we're back to where we started in terms of level of debts
I can see the DFD and our chance to start a family slipping towards the end of 2012 at this rate. At least we don't have much debt on the punishing interest rates it was on before though. will have to wait until next payday to do a proper update of the snowball, as we're still trying to repay the house savings ISA this month. *sighs* Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 2016

It is so frustrating and heartbreaking to feel like your going backwards, but like you said if this was pre-LBM you would have been screwed.
Fingers crossed the steering doesn't cost you any more money xLBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Feeling really down today, DH is off skiing tonight until Wednesday so I have to deal with the car stuff on my own
My back is bothering me so much I can't get comfortable to sleep. feeling very tired and weepy today
Best friend coming over tomorrow for rugby followed by dinner and pink wine so hopefully I'll sleep better with a bit of help "relaxing"
and she is going to help with a practise run at the pink butterfly cakes for my sister's hen do
and choosing outfits for next weekend, so am looking forward to that at least.
Will try to resurrect my postivity for next week

I'm so sleepy! Ended up not going to sleep til 145, even though i knew I had to get up early to take car to garage before my haircut.
V5 for new car arrived yesterday, so have done the tax online and don't have to brave the post office this morning!
Hope everyone has a good day xLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 2016

Afternoon Diary

Well, I finally did a review of all our accounts following the car purchase, and it's so much worse than I thought. I have been ignoring the whole situation for a few months, although we've been making payments have not properly controlled spending and slipped back into the habit of using cards. Need a big kick up the bum, see new signature for details, but suffice to say we've gone backwards dramatically, and all hope of getting debt free by the end of this year is gone. Am going to knuckle down and try and get our DFD back into 2012 as it's slipped to 2013
So, will be redoing our budgets when DH gets paid at the end of March, as it will be the first payday with his new wages, and again at end of April when the personal allowances change. Need to make sure every spare penny will go to the debts.
Feel so down
really don't want to have to tell DH about this when he gets back, but will have to bite the bullet. I'm the one that's organising the repayments etc, and I don't think he has his eye on the figures, so if I say it's ok to put something on a card he just agrees with me. Bad Jules! It's so hard to shake the feeling that I "deserve" to have something I want when I feel like I put almost all my salary into the repayments. Will have to try and factor more things into my personal spends budget and waste less money on lunches at work and takeaways, both hugely expensive.

I'm really sorry your feeling so down, it is hard when you feel like your going backwards.
The car purchase was essential though, its not like you have just been on a spending spree.
Now you have sat down and done a review you will be able to get back on track with it xLBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

I'm feeling a bit better now, redid our budgets and it looks like we can increase the snowball to about £900 from next month and we'll definitely get CC debt free in 2012 at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later though. Our initial DFD when we started seriously trying to pay the cards down was October 2012, so I'd be pleased if we could at least meet that or beat it.
Had a nice evening out with a friend from work, went to see the Kings Speech courtesy of clubcard vouchers. Was very good, I was worried that with all the hype it would be a letdown, but I really enjoyed it. Only 2 downsides to the evening, first a lady in the same row as us at the cinema was sick about 20 minutes into the film, ick!
She didn't go and get anyone to clean it up, just moved seats and I kept getting wafts of it, bleugh! Then when I got home I was hurrying to get in the house because there were 2 men loitering about on the street, and then i dropped my phone and the screen shattered  Will have to hunt through DH's stuff to find a spare handset, but I'm gutted, I loved my Legend (HTC smartphone), but definitely can't justify replacing it, and there's still 14 months to go on my contract so will be stuck with whatever spare old phone we have for AGES!!! (such a small worry in the grand scheme of things though

my brother and hid girlfriend had their baby this morning, a little boy, George Herbert
Had to find out via FB due to the lack of my phone though! Found a spare handset at home, but it doesn't work, just freezes about a minute after switching on, so need to go and get a PAYG handset tonight. Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 2016
