My debenhams order arrived this morning, I only ordered yesterday, and chose the free delivery so I'm very impressed! Even better, the boots fit my calves and my massive feet, and the dress is really cute! :j

    Hi Jules,

Sorry for my absence, the payrise for DH is super news and it's nice that he is being rewarded for his hard work :D. That was quick delivery on the Debenhams order too! I am really glad to hear you finally have a diagnosis on your back, it's a shame there is no 'quick fix' but hopefully you can do all the right things to let it heal.

I'll pop back in soon x

    Afternoon Diary :)

Payday today, but it's a minimum payments month for us - all our normal snowball money is going straight back in the house deposit fund to replace what we had to use to buy and insure the new car. Have sent Ka tax disc back for a refund, and am hoping for a refund on my insurance premium now the 3rd party's insurance have FINALLY admitted liability, plus it's no council tax month :T. All that money will also go back in the savings, along with the write off cheque and most of my bonus in April. So we've been set back a few months by the whole thing, but I'm trying not to be too stressed about it.

Next month is DH's first payday with new salary, and our council tax will drop by £60ish, so will rejig all the budgets then. We're going to change how we do things a little, last week I applied for a Tesco credit card, with DH as an additional card holder, and we're going to put all of our shopping and petrol spends on there, to be paid off monthly from the joint account. All of our pay except individual DDs and spends will be transferred to joint account, so that our spends budgets won't be eaten up by the increase in petrol prices. Plus we should get lots of extra Clubcard vouchers to use for cinema/meals out, or maybe save them up for a holiday.:j

Still waiting to hear from garage about the Focus, they're supposed to be finishing it today. Hoping it will come in under the £600 estimate :(

My best friend came back to work at my department again this morning, we met here as we started the same week as temps, and then she left for a permanent job elsewhere. We're carsharing (I already carshared with her boyfriend) and I was so excited to see her this morning :j She's back as a temp in a different department, but hoping it will go permanent soon.

wow, this is a long post even for me :rotfl:

    Morning Diary,
The final plans are in place for my sister's hen do weekend after next, and it should come to about £100, including spa, games+pizza evening on friday, crafty vintage tea party on the saturday and dinner out. I'm skipping the clubbing trip so saving a bit there. That still doesn't include any treatments at the spa, I'm umming and ahhing over a facial or a manicure, but they're soooo expensive :( (manicure £37!!!, facial £57, massage £75!)
Think I might just go and enjoy chilling out. Lucky I've got my lovely new swimsuit :D and maybe sitting in a jacuzzi would be good for my back :p
I need to make some butterfly cakes for the tea party part, am thinking of going down the pink buttercream and sprinkles route, my sister looooves pink :rotfl:Have bought some really cute paper cases with pink hearts on from lakeland, for £2.10, as I had to order a new piping bag since mine went mouldy after I trusted DH to wash it up once :rotfl:

Still no word from the garage about the Focus, I hope it's not completely dead

    Afternoon Diary :)

DH has heard from the garage, part of the engine is still away for testing at the engineers, so they can't tell us when it will be ready. Getting slightly worried about this, as DH is away from Saturday - Wednesday, he's going straight to his Dad's after work on Friday to make airport transport easier. My hire car is being collected tomorrow, so if we don't get the Focus back I'll be car-less while he's away. Not a problem for getting to work as I have carshares, but I was planning to go home for the day on Sunday and there's no public transport I can use :(

On the plus side, am getting an £80 refund on my insurance policy, and I've got my no claims bonus back :j Insurance still £550 for the year though, and it was only £290 last year, so waaaay more than I had budgetted. Beware of nasty shocks when renewal notices come in this year. :(

I need to tax our new car at the weekend - anyone know how I can do this without the logbook, as it hasn't arrived yet, and we obviously didn't get a reminder notice from DVLA? Is the new keepers details bit of the logbook sufficient?

Ooh you are going to be so glad I popped in!

I used to work for DVLA - although it was almost 5 years ago I hasten to add! ;)

If you have the V5c/2, ie the little green slip then you should be able to tax it. Just take that, ins cert and MOT to PO and see what they say. I am not sure how their systems work but we would tax a car on it as long as it came from the last V5 issued if that makes sense?

Cheers Jody, I'll try at the post office on saturday!
Busy day today, had an all-morning project meeting with the head of the R&D project I've been working on, had to give a 30 minute presentation  Seemed to go ok, and I didn't jabber on too much :rotfl:
Spending the afternoon going over spreadsheets with my colleagues to reconcile any differences. For some of our experiments the spreadsheets are so complext that it's easier to iron out errors if we all make our own version and compare, than if someone has to sit and check all the formulae which makes you go cross eyed after abuot 20 minutes! Happyhappy joyjoy :p

Not much to report today, going to collect the car from the garage tonight :T Fingers crossed we've had our 3 bad luck with cars - flat tyre, Ka written off, Focus timinig belt going!

Swimming tonight, am trying to go 3 times a week, so will try and go on Sunday as well, although my friend is staying over so may be a little too hungover :o.

I have my first individual pilates session on tuesday so looking forward to that. Bupa have confirmed that I can pay the lady and claim it back, so can have up to 8 sessions between now and April 1st.

Have finally caved and booked a haircut at a proper salon on Saturday. I've been hoping my back would improve so I could go to the college salon again, but I just can't sit for 2 hours in the same position. Fringe now down to the end of my nose and really really annoying me, so decided to get it done before my sister's hen do next weekend so I don't look silly in the pictures :D

Off home in a min, hope all's well with everyone else :)

That's great news on the pilates :)

I think a hair cut is allowed, you need to be able to see where your going!
