    Hello Diary :)
Another sleepy morning, almost late to work, and forgot that I'm meant to be having my photo taken today for a poster for our team event. No concealer in my handbag, and enormous dark circles under my eyes, plus hair rebelling and no time to straighten it this morning, so it's in a slightly messy ponytail
Will just have to try to avoid my colleague and her camera as long as possible. ;)

No idea why I'm so tired as I spent most of yesterday napping! Have been feeling a bit coldy for a few days, maybe I'm fighting off a bug, hence the need for more sleep than usual.

Nothing MSE to report, apart from that we stopped in on Saturday to save money, as it's been an expensive month so far. Payday on Friday though :j

Nationwide are taking an age to send out my new CC, so haven't been able to transfer my barclaycard balance yet. We've decided to only make minimum payments for August and September, to give us some extra funds to help with the house move, as there's a few bits we'll need to buy, including a new wardrobe, mattress, an extra bookshelf, lawnmower and bbq (not essential, but very much wanted!). We've already seen a wardrobe to match the one we already have, (Argos canvas and metal frame, £50, and not as unattractive/flimsy as it sounds!), and we've agreed that there's no point in buying proper bedroom furniture until we buy somewhere, in case there's built in storage etc, so we're sticking with our mismatched drawers (from our bedrooms at home!) until then. Hoping that when we move the autumn sales will have started at homebase/B&Q to make getting BBQ and lawnmower cheaper.

Bleugh! I overslept (again!) so no time to make lunches. I grabbed a can of soup from the cupboard, to save me going to the shop. DH had bought it at some point - Heinz beef mulligatawny. It was possibly the most revolting thing I've ever tasted, had to go and pour it away after about 4 spoonfuls. Yuck!
Luckily I've also got some fruit and a yoghurt, but I think I'm going to be hungry later. :(

I didn't manage to avoid the photo yesterday, but my friend lent me some concealer, mascara and lipgloss, plus a load of hair grips so I could tame my hair, I think it came out ok. The only problem is that the lady that was taking the photos had us standing at the foot of the stairs, and took the photos from halfway up, and since I was wearing a scoop-necked top, I just look like a massive pair of tits! If I'd known she was going to do that I would have worn something that covered me up a bit more!!!

:rotfl:@ the photo! The dark circles must be catching as I have horrid ones today! I have this real aversion to getting out of bed this week, I blame the cold and dark mornings!

I hope the new CC turns up soon, I am the most impatient person in the world so I think you are doing well so far :)

Carshare back from her hols today, and we had a bit of a disagreement this morning. So far she's only driven 4 days this month, so I asked her to drive today and tomorrow (payday on Friday), as my budget has been completely thrown out by her not telling me she was going on holiday until 2 days before (she knows how tight my budget is, and I've asked her to let me know as soon as she knows that she's not coming to work on any particular days so I can plan in advance) She got really snippy about it, and said that she didn't see why she should do extra driving because I'm bad with money :( When I pointed out that she had only driven 4 days this month, she claimed it was far more (it DEFINITELY isn't!), and that I was using her to top up my own finances.

We then drove to work in an uncomfortable silence! 4 weeks and 2 days to go, and I can't afford to stop sharing, even if she only drives once a week, or I'll have no extra cash outside bills at all. She works 3 days a week on site, and 2 days at home, so I think she should drive 2 days every other week, iyswim. Actually, I think she should come to work every day, as she never seems to do much when WAH, as her housemates are always in and she's getting really behind and stressed out, but if I suggested it now it would look like I'm just trying to get more carsharing!
    grrrr

Well I sounded like a right grumpy cow this morning! Am now attempting to chill out about the whole thing, only another 4 weeks left, and I have to ride home in the car with her tonight so must try and keep things civil, and not think of things that annoy me about her!

Anyway, have been finalising our budget for the move etc, and from October's payday, our snowball total will be £700. It's not the massive increase we originally hoped for (we're currently paying £675), but that's because we decided to go for a house rather than a flat so we had more space (so we don't have to move again when we have a baby :D hopefully in 2012), and we want to have enough in our budget for all the inevitable trips back home etc, so are allowing ourselves a bit more for personal spends. Hopefully we may have a little extra left from our personal spends each month to put towards the cards, but tbh, I'm feeling quite relaxed about the whole thing. We'll get there, even if it takes a few months longer, and I'd rather have an enjoyable lifestyle along the way than feel like i'm constantly deprived, which will only lead to a massive splurge.

We've also decided to get a membership for the local council swimming pool and gym, which is £64 a month joint. It seems like a lot, but we both really want to get fit and lose weight, and when classes are £4.50 a time, and swimming about £3 a time, it soon adds up, so I hope it will save us money. There's no minimum contract, so if we don't use it that much, we can cancel and go PAYG.

    Hey grumpy :rotfl:

Just popping in quickly as trying to catch up with everything, take a week or two off and life seems so hard to catch up on in every sense

Bet you can't wait for house :j exciting stuff....and babies 2012....be here before you know it :D

I think you are taking a great attitude towards it all by having life etc....balancing it right I think achieves the goals....I find if I don't then I just go off the rails completely - good luck!

Oh and membership at pool defo good idea, keeping fit and healthy is a must for trying for little one....I think it's important to be at our best not only for baby but also for yourself as huge change to body and life....if we're at best then hopefully we can manage it all well ;) Just my waffling thoughts - sorry! :o

Anyhow will catch up again soon....when I find a minute to sit!

    Choc xx

    Morning Diary :)
Very MSE last night, went out for dinner with MIL and DH's brothers (lovely Thai restaurant, yummy!), but didn't spend anything, as MIL picked up the bill. :T Also had time to make a tagine for dinner tonight (using lamb I grabbed from the reduced section a few weeks ago, only £2 for a lb!) which I left in the slow cooker while we were out, so just need to put it on to heat up while we go swimming tonight, and will have lovely dinner waiting when we get back. I love my slow cooker, must find more receipes to use it with. DH even said it smelt nice, and he saw the onion before I could get them in the pan and hide the skins in the bin! Hopefully he won't go picking through it to remove all the onions tonight! :rotfl:

No chat in the car again this morning, I think my carshare has decided that I'm using her or something. never mind the fact that until she passed her driving test I was forever dropping her off all over town, going with her to the post office collection place before taking her home, insuring her on my car and giving her driving lessons......

all this is because I said that her suddenly deciding to work at home 2 days a week had a big impact on my budget, as before she only WAH rarely, and therefore gave me petrol money for 5 days a week, but now she only drives 1/2 days a week, so I'm not saving as much. I never said that she shouldn't WAH because I need the money or anything, but when she asked why we weren't going out as much these days, and I told her (honestly) that my salary covers my petrol and the petrol money/savings from sharing with her is my only spending money, and since she started WAH so often, i'm down about £50 a month. Also, I mentioned before she went on holiday (and only told me about 2 days before)that I could have done with knowing it at the start of the month so I could plan my budget, and the 2 combined seems to have made her cross with me?

    Good Morning Jules,

What an absolute nightmare with the carshare, she has obviously got it into her head that she is doing you a favour?! Perhaps on the last day you should give her a right earful, she seems to have completely forgotten about your help earlier on . My brother can be a bit like this, I have done so much running around for him over the years but if I ask hi to walk round the shop to pick something up he tells me to do it myself, cheeky f***er!

MMMM Thai, I could murder another one, it must be my new favourite food :D

Only one more day this week then you have the weekend to avoid the long awkward silence :rotfl:

I think I might be going to be a bridesmaid next year! My BF is waiting (impatiently) for her boyfriend to propose. Apparently last night they were talking about moving to their own house, as they;re currently in the flat he owns, (which she hates!), and she said she'd rather wait until they were married, and when would that be? He asked what her ring size was, and for an example of what sort of ring she wants :j :D
She's told him to take me with him for the shopping, so may get to go trying on rings (hopefully soon, or she might burst!)
