Minor setback on the 0% shuffle, rang MBNA to ask them to reissue my card, as when it expired in February they isn't send a new one, and said that the account was suspended until repaid in full due to "poor account management" (fair enough. It was pre-lbm). Account now paid in full so rang today and was told that my account was closed and I'd have to be credit checked for a new card! I've received nothing in writing from them at all regarding this, it's absolutely appalling. The guy I spoke to today was very helpful, but admitted that it's not uncommon for accounts to be suspended with no communication!
Anyway, have asked for the account to be fully closed as soon as the next statement is generated. Sadly that card had a £3000 limit, and we were hoping to get a BT offer, so will have to leave the balance on DH's cap1 card for the time being, but it is the only one with interest now, so not too bad
In other news houses available in September have started coming onto rightmove this week, so am trying to line up some viewings. Have seen one I'm really excited about, but trying not to get hopes up until I've seen it and paid a holding deposit, as so many houses have gone before I've been able to view them.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Hello Diary
I've been a bit lax with posting this week, I've been getting myself all stressed out about finding somewhere suitable to live (even though my sensible brain knows it's all going to be fine).
Still not been able to view the house I'm really excited about, problems with the tennants or somethingTwo viewings after work tonight, but they're both at the very top of our budget (£700pcm absolute maximum, houses are £695 and £675), so have to be amazing to be considered. It's really more than I want to spend, but DH says that since we're intending to stay in the next house until we can buy somewhere of our own, it'd OK if we have to slow down our debt repayments a tiny bit (£50 a month or so) if the house is right. He's also leaving all the searching up to me, I wish he'd get a bit more involved.

Hi Jody,
I've sent a snotty email to mbna which made me feel better! I'm sure they'll just ignore it.
I really liked one of the houses, I could see us living there as I was going round and was mentally arranging the furniture! We're going back for a second viewing this afternoon, fingers crossed DH approves. Although this house is at the top end of our budget, it actually costs the same as our current flat so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for us. If he doesn't like it, or if it's not as good on a second viewing, I've got a list of 5 more houses I'd like to view next week!
Weighed in this morning, 14st10.5lb, so 0.75lb off. :T Pleased with that as I still haven't been running and only went swimming once this week. Plus I have to admit that I've been shamefully disorganized this week and only managed to ring lunch to work onceso have been going to work sandwich shop. I don't seem to be capable of leaving without a cheese baguette and some crisps
have been good with dinners though, so it seems to have balanced out.
Must do better next week though, or it's going to take an age to get to my target! Back to running on monday, if I can fit it in, busy day in the lab planned. Swimming today or tomorrow, depending when DH wakes up.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
That's excellent news with the house, I really hope your DH approves! I did the same when we saw this flat, I was working out where certain things could go
.
Well done on the weight loss too, I think I really need to step my game up next week after all the naughty food I ate yesterday.
PS - you were up farrrrrr too early :rotfl:

Woohoo, DH liked the house too, so we've gone for it. 3 bed detached house with a lovely big garden on a quiet street, 5 mins walk from best friend's house and 15 minutes walk from town centre :j we'll be picking up the keys on 21st SeptemberLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

Morning diary
Why is it that during the week I can barely drag myself out of bed after my alarm's been going off for 45 mins, but at the weekend i'm wide awake at 7am, even though I want to sleep in and haven't set any alarms?!
Weighed myself again this morning, 14st9.75lb, so weightloss = 3.25/42lb. Going under 14st10lb means that I've finally passed the 2st mark from my original highest weight :j Yesterday I wore my small size 16 jeans (I have 3 pairs, but 2 of them were a but too tight to wear out decently before!) and they fit comfortably with no muffintop effect.think I might get out my size 14 pair and see how they look now!
Also managed to get DH on the scales again yesterday, he'd lost 3lb this week! DH weightloss = 3/56lb. He's going to overtake me at this rate, and all he's done is reduce his lunch from 2 sarnies to 1 and a banana! So unfair!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
:j:beer::money::T @ The House!!! Excellent news!!!!! I bet you are so glad to have it all sorted out now
. (I'm very excited/happy for you, can you tell? :rotfl:).
Well done on the joint weightloss as well. I am already dreading WI this week but it's my own fault for eating so badly, I have so little willpower it's laughable.
Will you be counting down to the 21st of September now?

Well I tried on the size 14s, and I could do them up, but then DH came in and burst out laughing! I'm a definite Apple shape, almost all my excess weight is on my belly, so I had an enormous muffintop, even though they fitted nicely on my legs and bum! Will give them another go after I get under 14st! (And after I've embarked on the 30 day shred! We popped in for a cuppa with my friend on Saturday, and she'd just done the first day of level 2 and couldn't lift her arms!)
On the plus side i found another pair of size 16s as I was sorting out my trouser drawer, and they fit fine. Have also made a big pile of clothes to go for charity. Nothing worth ebaying, or even charity shopping, so will take it to the rag bin at the supermarket when I next go. There's six weeks til we move, so want to have a good clear out before then, going to try and do something every weekend. We're getting the keys on Tuesday 21st, so will be off work for 2 weeks starting on 20th. Planning to move on the 22/23rd so will have plenty of time to pack the previous weekend. We're going to have removal men this time, it's just too far to make 6 or 7 trips with a van etc, so will have to start getting quotes etc this week. Am also going to look into challenging the council tax banding - it's currently Band D! :eek:Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Hello Diary
Busy day yesterday, so didn't manage to get out for a run, and then didn't go swimming either as I was so knackered when I got home. Am going to try and go for a run tomorrow, and for a swim on Thursday.
I've started the mammoth moving spreadsheet, with lists of everything that needs doing, it's quite scary even though we've got 6 weeks to do it all. I really hate moving house, the thought of all the packing is sooo depressing! We also have an issue with space, I'm not sure where we're going to put all the boxes once we start packing - when we moved in our stuff had been in storage for 10 days, so the first thing we did was load the van with all the boxes, so we could get to the furniture - the boxes filled the entire kitchen to head height! Obviously, we can't leave them like that for more than a few hours, as we'll need to use the kitchen at some point! We may just have to put the boxes in the hallway outside our flat and hope our neighbours don't pinch anything!
Have contacted several removals companies for quotes, and had one removal man being hilariously rude to me - I asked if he could come and do a quote in the evening, as we don't get in until 6 most days (not an unreasonable request!?) and he said "of course I cant, I only work in the daytime like a normal person, I'm not your slave you know!" :rotfl: He certainly won't be getting our business.
Anyway, another company have got back to me with a quote of £325 for 2 men and 2 vans for the day. This seems pretty reasonable to me, and should all be quite straighforward, as we'll do all the packing ahead of time, so it should just be: load vans, drive to new house, unload vans. Will wait and see what other quotes we get before booking anything though.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160
