Well, today for me involves washing 7 bags of really lovely clothes I got on freecycle yesterday. Some of them are lovely and I'm keeping them for me and boyfriend. Some are no use to me but are in perfect condition, so will sell them and give the money to a local hospital charity I raise funds for. :T
Other than that, I have birthday shopping for niece to do....mmmmm, what to get a 12 year old tomboy?!
Everyone have a lovely day0 -

My Dad went back into hospital yesterday to get his lungs drained, hopefully this time they won't let him out until he's well IYKWIM. Am supposed to be looking after DD's friend all day today as her Mum's being going back and forth to the hospital as her Dad is really ill (they've had the call to go in twice now  ) But when I phoned yesterday to confirm what time etc her sister answered the phone and she's been taken into hospital with suspected appendicitis (sp?) - how much more has that family got to go through! Anyway so I don't know for sure whether I'll be having her or not - I'll just play it by ear

Morning all, thanks for all making me feel so welcome yesterday.
Best of luck to Miss Pink Winged, and those back in w**k.
Elona really sorry to hear about your father. I created a memory book when my cousin died and found the whole experience really thearptic and gave me something to look at when I was feeling really down about the whole situation. A good cry in these situations even months and years after the time can be so good.
AussieLass you just said the magic works, "fat free" and "cake" in the same sentence, can Ihave the receipe. I'm desperately trying to diet, but have a really sweet tooth so really struggle sometimes. - Hope Daisy is ok too.
tra hope you have a fantastic day, I love going to spas but it never seems to be often enough. Enjoy.
Kaz good on you for doing your SOA, facing up to do something about it is the hardest part. Best of luck getting sorted.
FrugalJo stick with the ebay thing, it does take a few goes to get it right. I managed to raise close on £1,000 just selling a little bit here and there to put towards by wedding fund a few years ago. Read all the tips and download Turbolister, just keeps everything in one place and makes, making the listing look pretty so much easier.
Chipps enjoy the holiday club, I loved these as a kid, wish I could go back to doing that in the holidays, life was so much easier.
Hi to anyone else I've missed.
I've got a busy one today, working from home again, but need to do enough to cover tomorrow as well as we're off to Belgium for a VW show at Spa race track tomorrow lunchtime. I can't wait, we did it last year and had a fabulous time. So I need to pack, make sure we have all our camping gear. I did all the washing and ironing on the weekend so nothing to sort except some underwear.I've also got the kitchen to sort as DH did dinner last night reallly late and has left the kicthen in a tip. MEN!!
Best get on with it then. Will pop back later.0 -
Morning all.
Well looks like another dull and miserable day here, have pegged washing out in the hope it will blow over.
Just made apt for DD to go to docs, was coughing like mad last night which usually means ear infection with her. Trouble is one doc keeps saying its ashma ,but why would she get ear infections with this? Not like she coughs all the time. Going to see diff doc see what they think.
Plans for today, get the BM going, tidy shed so we can at least get in the door and think it will be easy tea of toad in hole.
Thanks to replies on an earlier thread I have dicovered the joys af stardrops I can now throw a load of usless cleaning stuff away which means less clutter. That reminds me better tackle those bathroom tiles today.
Off for more coffee, DD must have come into our room about 7 times last night then DD2 woke at 530.
Hope everyone has a good day and that Miss PW's postman is extra early today. I remember standing at the gate waiting for hours seemed like hours!!!0 -
Good morning everybody,
Aussielass, hope Daisy is O.K. we're trying to get Caley used to other dogs, and so far we've met quite a lot of nice owners. I do worry about the dogs that aren't on leads though.
DH, DD and me (I'm trying to learn all these abbreviations, I hope I got that right.) ( What's the abbreviation for dog?) went down to my sister's in Milton Keynes for the weekend, extended into Monday so we could babysit for the nephew & neices while she went for a hospital appointment. Its a real turn around that DH nipped out for some milk & took ages, came back with an exciting parcel having been waylaid by a charity shop. (This is the man who used to moan & groan about my charity shopping & car booting) He'd got a really expensive jacket (outdoorsy type, usually £175 ) for £5 and some Rohan Trousers for £3.50 amongst other stuff... oh, and a tiny carton of milk for the eight of us.
I have to get off the pooter soon to start on my BIG CLEAROUT which is in its last phase. We've taken carloads to the charity shop, a half carload to my sister's. Mr. Thrifty's anyone? It's going begging.
I still haven't gotten around to making the Weetabix cake, tho' I printed the recipe off & tucked it into my book.
Hope your Dad's O.K. ST-O-M-o'1
Fingers crossed anyone waiting for GCSE s
I'd be grateful if someone could tell me what an Avater or aviator is.
Looking up FLC II next (I take it that's Fly Lady Challenge 2) My house needs it, and DH is fitting MIL's bathroom today..... so I get the house to myself.
Topher.
P.S. Kiwich. didn't make it to Leighton Buzzard so your charity shops were safe from me. Went to a very small (not brilliant) Car boot at the Hula dog show in Aspley Guise instead.0 -
Morning all
really fed up today, though my woes are piffling.
I don't get on the site as often as I should, cos reading all the tips is a great lift!
Currently at w**k, boss has come in, dumped a load of stuff and gone again. I only work 3 days a week, so having to come in really intrudes into my efforts to be OS and I am coming to resent it! I must think of the money that it gives me at the end of the month though! There's pros and cons to everything eh?
At least I sleep well though and I really feel for thos of you who don't. I know how I am if I just miss a couple of hours, so can't imagine how you get through the day
Made it particulalry hard as I spent the day with my little nephew yesterday. We did all sorts of fun stuff and made some lovely carrot and coriander soup and some scones for him to take home to his Mum and Dad. Having no kids myself makes these days all the more treasured!
Have a lovely day everyoneEverything in moderation..............including moderation..............0 -

Enjoy Spa! We stayed on the site a few years ago during some racing. They closed the Ladies loos overnight, but left the Mens open. Returning to the site after vsiting the local hostelries, obviously a queue formed for the cubicles. Grinning cos he didn't have to queue, a chap strode past us waiting ladies to the 'latrine' things on the wall. Well, he got there then stopped grinning as a dozen pairs of eyes watched him............. He took his hand off his zip and said " I just can't do this with you lot watching!!" then left (presumably to pee behind a shrub or something!) Hmm Girl power!!Everything in moderation..............including moderation..............0
