    Could you just clarify something?

You are copying all your DVDs to a hard drive and then actually complaining that you aren't being offered much for the DVDs (that you have retained a copy of)?
no i am complaining about the fact that its obviously not just me thats being offered shocking exchanges films i bought less than a month ago are worth just as little as extremely rare editions .... 30p back for a disc you spent £20 on is shocking i underestand second hand depreciation .... but theres a fine line between fair and unfair !

Why do you think you are entitled to anything as a DVD pirate?
  • you know what i will regret i ever asked a question on here !!!

I wouldn't post such things in an open forum. It might be questionable whether it's legal to save your DVD's to your hard disk. But it's for sure illegal to sell the DVD's afterwards and keep the copy.

Not bad for your first post...
Saving a copy of a DVD to hard disk will involve stripping out whatever protection was employed to stop copying, and that act alone is illegal.
However, it is highky unlikely the movie moguls going to persue the home user who rips their (bought & paid for) DVD's to a hard disk/media centre for their own use.

I've used them a couple of times and yeah 30p is pretty low but you've gotta bere in mind they pay for the postage, they've gotta check the dvd, stock it and find a buyer for it. Quite good for Region 1 dvd's if you've got any as they tend to get a bigger price.

Better than binning but else car boot em.
Money, Money, Money ..... Banks/Casinos/Bookies give me all you money its a poor mans world....

The OP said no, robt, it was another poster who mentioned they did this.

The OP has been edited, rendering some of the following comments (apparently) meaningless, including those referring to piracy.

Unless I'm mistaken, OP's intent was to copy DVDs to HDD then sell to Music Magpie......

Indeed - as I understand it the original post suggested that because the OP had purchased a TV with a USB connection they wished to copy all DVDs to a hard drive and make them accessible from there, then selling the original DVDS.

Which of course is very naughty.

Really upsets me im sitting with over 600 dvds that now need a home as they really do take up way to much room.... they have all been looked after extremely well ..... to find out that you are going to get stung.... think i must have spend a couple of grand on them to be offered pennies by a company that clearly is going to make a large return on them

So you bought a load of DVD's probably at release cost £10+ and their now worth next to nothing, its to be expected they're not exactly investment material and will depreciate to nothing.
