Hi again,
Thanks TPA - I've checked and there's a Curves about six miles away, which is probably a bit too far for me to travel. I like the idea though... is it full of 20 years olds with perfect bodies, or does it have a healthy dollop of 'real' women?!
Have to say that I'm dreading the idea of returning to the gym. I remember only too well what it was like when I skipped a couple of weeks and that was when I was a regular. Quiet what state I'll be in after three years' absence is anyone's guess... Maybe I should start off with walking for an hour a day or something?

Lol OMG no! I wouldn't be there if it was! There are people there of all shapes n sizes and ability, people like me who leave looking like beetroots and other that are serious 'keep fitters' one lady runs marathons but most are plodding on trying to get fit/lose weight. Ages from about 17 to 80!!
I think I've updated the main chart, give me a poke if i've missed anyone:D
Hi Shouldi (great name BTW) of course you can join, the list in alphabetical order, hence some people have .5 numbers!! If you could put you detail in a post a bit like this:
25. Taka: 21st 8lbs/2st 12lbs (40lbs) /10st 1lbs/2.8lbs/Sunday
I can add you on.
Good luck xx

I started exercising again by increasing my walking for the 1st month - just 20-30mins ~5 days a week. Initially that absolutely killed me - I was seriously, seriously unfit! In month 2 I started ice skating again once a week (I used to skate as a child but only once a year or so since then) and doing pilates DVDs (25mins). Later on I added exercise DVDs instead of the pilates DVD some days (20-30mins).
Now I seem do be thoroughly addicted to skatingand am going 2-3 times a week and my other exercising is to give me strength and flexibility to do some of the skating moves! I've really noticed a difference in my fitness, balance, strength and much improved flexibility. I can also run for a bus without almost collapsing for the 1st time in years!
:j Stupidly I have just started the Shred DVD... evil... evil... evil woman! :rotfl:
My best advice is to find something you enjoy! Is there somethig that interests you that you could do or something you want to try? Swimming, Zumba, Salsa, Badminton, cycling, running... ? The list is endless... It doesn't have to be the gym if that isn't your thing!Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

Well been a busy couple of weeks but the diet is not going brilliantly- didn't get round to posting last week- but I had gained 2 pounds. And this week I stayed the same. Gutted.
I am pleased with the initial progress and people are saying I look slimmer (without me mentioning diet) plus I am definitely looking and feeling more toned- but I need to try harder with the weight loss- clothes still tight.
Possible reasons for the plateau:
I am currently "on holiday" and there is a greater wine consumption than during term time.
Exercise is not as intensive as it should be maybe?
Food- not as disciplined as I was at the start of the diet- oops!
Weather is poor- been too windy for cycling along the shore- so I've only walked.
Solutions:
I have a voucher for a weeks free trial at Fitness First- I'll try to book this now to use before I go back to school.
Diary food and exercise- I'll try Taka's fitness pal too.
Thanks Taka:T:T:T
I've been loving the adult swim at the local leisure centre- but at £3.60 a time (or £7.20 if OH comes) its a bit expensive- I'll look into monthly fee.

TPA - 3 1/2 lbs is a tremendous loss, well done!!! I was good for most of today, but fell off the wagon by eating half a bucket of popcorn in the cinema with a friend whilst watching Undertow... Still, at least it was the salty sort and not the sugary, butterscotchy one!

Well done TPA! :T 3.5lbs is an amazing loss!
Insanely early weigh in this week as this weekend will involve much choc, cake and alcohol!:rotfl: That will give me long enough to recover before my next weigh in in 10 days time!
25. Taka: 21st 8lbs/3st 0.2lbs (42.2lbs) /10st 1lbs/2.2lbs/[STRIKE]Sunday[/STRIKE] Thursday for 1 week only! :j
