No change for me, still 10st 2lbs, but OH got de-mob happy because he doesn't have to go back to work until next Wednesday and came home with a huge takeaway curry last night! I reckon if I hadn't eaten that I'd be 10st 1lb this morning!

Been away for a bit - so just catching up. My total loss as of yesterday is now 50 llbs (since January) and I am 13.13 - Gosh I have not been in the 13 stone somethings for a longggggggg time!
Went shopping for an outfit for a wedding and it was great just going into standard shops and picking up a size 16 that went on fine. I know that my weight and size has still got a long way to go down yet - but I am beginning to see that having a normal BMI and a size 12 may just actually happen!!

  • Woo hoo, 1st post updated at last...sorry for the lateness!:o

I will write lines a punishment.

I have been pants lately, I am back on board on Monday, have so much on this weekend I just cannot get my head around dieting! Sorry thats bad I know.

I have been going to Curves gym for ladies only..their motto is 'no mirrors no men!':o I joined at the begining of the month and have been going 4 times a week (only 3 times this week though:mad:) I am actually quite enjoying it...which is worrying as I normally detest exercise.:p I have noticed a big difference in my shape since joining, think I may have lost inches but gained a few 1lbs in the process:mad:

Keep up the good work, you are doing fantastically well.

Taka, I hope I can become as disciplined as you, you are an insperation xx

Do you keep a track of your measurements? I started a couple of months ago and I find it quite motivational! Apparently in the last 2 months I've lost 12 cm from my hips alone! :o :j :rotfl:

I don't know how much exersise you were doing pre-gym but if it wasn't much you are possibly building some muscle as well as getting rid of fat at the moment. A lb of fat takes up far more volume than a lb of muscle (see here). Your weight might not change loads at the moment but you may be shrinking! Still good! :D :T

For example the last time I fitted into the jeans I'm wearing I was 1.5 stones lighter than I am now! This time I've done far more exercise so I look a size smaller than I've been at the same weight before.

 Me???? Nope I'm just stubborn! :p I really want to go to Machu Picchu and be fit enough to to do the trek I want do to get there! :p Its something I've wanted to do since my teens... Its my goal in all of this!

... Well that and I've just spent a horrendous amount on some intermediate level skates (£365  - they arrive on Monday or Tuesday! Hope they fit!) so I HAVE to use them. :p My other exercising is mainly so I have the strength/flexibility to not completely die in my skating classes! :rotfl: Today I'm in pain (my glutes! ouch!) due to spending ~20 mins doing beginners these at Thursday's class & practice! I need to do more squats and lunges as I'm struggling to hold my entire weight on 1 foot on a bent leg for any length of time! :rotfl:

    Hello all!!
Very delayed I must say, but this refurb is taking a little longer than expected, so still no Wii fit set up at home and no scales:o

Well, I managed to sneakily weigh myself whilst at my sister's on Friday evening. Not sure about the accuracy of the scales but I'll have to assume they're right for now;)

Currently 13 stone 7lb (189 lb) Target weight decided: 11 stone (154 lb) Need to lose 35 lb

Better get off my ***se and do something about it:rotfl::rotfl:

Apologogies for being so rubbish updating, but enjoyed reading the amusing and very inspiring posts. Maybe I could start measuring the inches...no excuse then as I'm sure I have a tape measure lying around:D

I would love to buy it. Unfortunately my Chondromalacia Patella* has flared up & I dare not aggravate it.

*This causes painful knees. I first had it nearly 20 years ago when I was 30 & did a lot of exercise. I aggravated it last week on my Reebok side steppy thingymadjig. According to wiki "This condition often affects young, otherwise healthy athletes...Pain at the front of the knee is common in young adults, especially soccer players, gymnasts, cyclists, rowers, tennis players, ballet dancers, horseback riders, volleyball players, and runners. Snowboarders and skateboarders are prone to this injury".

So am obviously extremely fit and athletic underneath the layers of fat, cellulite & general apathy :rotfl:. Or, it could be because I have big hips and just standing up straight puts strain on my knees as they try to adapt to the angle of my thigh bones :o.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
