I have just received the following unsolicited email from SGS :

We wanted to give you an update regarding your My City Deal order with Sunglasses Shop.
As stated with your voucher there may be a longer than usual delivery time. Please refer to your confirmation email from My City Deal and read the terms of sale.
If you were unsure of the terms at the time of order, or you do not have the email to hand please contact My City Deal.
If you can not wait for your order from Sunglasses Shop and you would like to cancel your order, please reply to this email to inform us and contact the voucher company to let them know.
The vouchers were sold with the longer delivery time to allow us to cope with the volume of orders. This bank holiday weekend most of the customers who have not yet received their sunglasses should receive a dispatch email.
If you placed your order with My City Deal on the first day of the promotion you are still within the time frame to cancel your order and receive a full refund. Email [EMAIL="support@mycitydeal.co.uk"]support@mycitydeal.co.uk[/EMAIL] if this is what you choose.
Please know we are doing everything we can to process and dispatch all orders and your sunglasses will be with you very soon.

I'm reading : "Your sunglasses are out of stock, we are very busy, cancel if you want, we don't care, in fact we'd like you to cancel, so we can put this whole sorry mess behind us."

ordered mine thursday 07.45, delivered tuesday 2pm.

saved between £30-£50 on buying them from other retailers, cant grumble about that.

I attempted to buy my glasses yesterday, put them into my basket and got to the checkout process but then the transaction failed to process repeatedly. My bank informs me today that the process was seen as suspicious and therefore blocked!!!

My attempt to buy the same glasses today has failed as they are no longer on the site. SO now I am in the poor position of either writing off the MCD money or spending more at sunglasses shop to get something I don't really want.

I don't blame Martin for this. Overall I have saved and made much more as a result of the site than I may lose here but I do feel it is taking the gloss off what has previously been a great reputation for journalistic scrupulousness whioch is what Martin prides himself on.

I ordered mine very late on Thursday, had the standard reply as posted above and now the pair I ordered is not on the site at all. I will be watching with interest what happens next.

I went for the deal in the end after sitting on it until sunday (when I ordered) I to have had the above email today.

Where will we be if they cant fulfill your order after the 7 day deadline for a refund from MCD

7 days is long enough to wait, i will be getting a refund too if theyre not here.

Ordered mine on Sunday afternoon, got a confirmation email soon after, a dispatch email on Monday and delivered on Tuesday morning.It was a Rayban aviator.
