It said it had been despatched and gave a UPS tracking number, expecting them to arrive on monday.

Hello everyone, I am new to MSE Forums, but as I took advantage of this offer, and had similar questions, I thought I would share my technique to resolve one of them.

I am sure there are plenty of people who, like me, knew they wanted sunglasses, but had not yet looked at the site, and therefore do not know what price they were before, and if they have now gone up.

The best way to check this is to use Google cache. Don't hang about though because when Google revisits the site, it will update the cached version and it will be too late.

    To do this:

    1. Find the page with the sunglasses you ordered on the Sunglasses Shop website

    2. Copy the URL in the address bar.

    3. Go to Google.com. In the search box, paste the website address, and click search

    4. At the top of the search listings (under the sponsored links), you should see a purple link to your glasses on the sunglasses shop website. Under this should be a smaller link saying "Cached". Click this.

    5. You should now see Google's cached "snapshot" of the page, with a price on it. To see if this price was before you bought it, look at the top of the page, to where it says something like "It is a snapshot of the page as it appeared on 13 May 2010 22:08:07 GMT"

    6. Post your results here so we know if they are keeping their word! :)

Both my orders despatched via ups. I know a lot of you had problems, but this was a cracking deal personally - one pair of Raybans and one pair of Miu Mius for at least 40% cheaper than anywhere else.

I have also received a dispatch email for one of my orders. Still waiting on another 3.

Just got my UPS notification (ordered thusday at 8.45) so they should be here in a couple of days (shop staff are obviously working on this lovely sunny Sunday to get these out).

What went wrong? Not much as it goes. Got my Oakleys at a great price and not had to wait long at all. Simples.

Bunch of drama queens, I'm personally happy. Thanks to MCD, Sunglesses Shop and MSE.

"I think this company are taking some serious liberties. First they tell us we wont get the 'next day' delivery, which was advertised and paid for in good faith (and usually free on this site). Then they up the prices. Yet i ordered at 08:30 this morning and the prices had already gone up, but i did not notice until later as i was in a rush. Got this email from about an hour ago...

As a result of the huge popularity of the Sunglasses Shop deal, stocks of popular ranges have been severely depleted. This has led to unforeseen increased costs stemming from Sunglasses Shop’s various suppliers, which in turn have resulted in automated price rises on the website itself.
    Automated price rises... yeah, whatever.

It's gone from a really good deal to a good one and i am still pleased to be getting my Polarised Oakley Fives Squared at a good price, which i planned to buy anyway, but i don't expect to see them any time soon. I probably wont be using this retailer again or recommending them really.

At the end of the day, i with delivery (which i know we were told about) and the price hike, plus the fact that retailer was not the cheapest to begin with, mean the saving is not that amazing. I think would have spent the money i saved and been sure of next day delivery.

I just hope they can get these glasses out ASAP, mud sticks on the interwebs"

    It certainly does
