On a daily basis I have been in contact with the sunglasses shop on their live chat trying to get the sunglasses I had seen last Wednesday at £83.30 and not the £100.30 price they are now charging. I have told the adviser several times that i was sent an email from mycitydeals last week informing me prices would return to normal last Friday at 9am. The adviser tells me to purchase the glasses and they will refund me the difference in around seven days. I have told them I am not willing to do this as i would probably have to chase up the refund as well. It is so frustrating as I was told by the adviser that their I.T team will readjust the price by Monday. Yesterday I contacted them again as the price hadn't been adjusted, they said that they were still looking into this and to leave my details so that they could phone me that day to do the transaction manually yet nobody called. Today I tried to speak on live chat again when explaining my situation after them asking if I want any help they ignored me. I know its only £17 difference but i feel on principal I shouldn't have to pay now and wait for a refund in difference to hopefully be returned. Think ill have to refund my voucher. Thanks to everybody who posts the competitions. :beer:0

Hey peeps,
I've just registered but have been watching this thread and the other related ones since the deal was published last week. I also jumped at the chance of saving £33 on a pair of Ray Ban Wayfarers from sunglasses-shop, but have been less than impressed by the service so far. Reading through this thread I have noticed that people placed their orders many hours and even days after me and already have their glasses!! The pair I have ordered in currently in stock and not a confirmation email as yet. I really don't want to get to the stage where I have to ask for a refund as I really like the glasses and they are still a great deal. Fingers crossed I'll get an email in the next 24 hours..
Initially I was very shocked when I purchased my voucher as within hours my pair of Ray Ban's had gone from £88.00 to £102.95. I spoke to a girl on live chat and she said "they are our prices.. sorry". I obviously wasn't satisfied with the answer and I went on live chat from a different computer and the same advisor then told me the prices would be coming down as "Ray Ban had put the prices up remotely without consulting the website.."
The following morning I checked the site and my Ray Bans's had remained at £88.00 much to my relief. I went to a meeting and an hour later I checked my bookmarked page and the price had risen to £93.95!!! Much like everyone here at first I experienced obstructive staff until MSE got involved. I still don't know whether to believe the fact that they were overwhelmed, or whether they were hoping to make a few extra quid and totally ignore the sale of goods act. Anyway I'll keep an eye on this forum and hopefully I'll have my specs by the weekend in time for the washout lol.

i was worried too to be honest, yet today i got the dispatch email with track and trace details. my shades should be here tomorrow, so bang on 7 days since i ordered them.
i was going to cancel the order today, but i got the dispatch email.
it all seems genuine, my only gripe is that people who ordered after me received orders before me, i.e not processed in the order they were placed.
overall im happy now, i will post again when they arrive. i ordered ray ban aviators, 55mm polarised lenses.0 -

I would like to know what MSE, MCD and sunglassess shop intend to do about this as quite frankly this cloudy weather is totally unacceptable!

I also got the dispatch email today, having ordered last Thursday, so pretty good really considering the volume of orders. Only trouble is, with all the confusion last Thursday - prices changing and website crashing - I cant remember which ones I finally ordered! Think they were black Oakleys so I'm sure they will be fine!0 -

How do you delete a thread using the spam button?
If several people press the SPAM button it will disappear until Abuse get the chance to review it. We could demonstrate but don't think it would go down too well!Gone ... or have I?0 -
i guess i was 1 of the lucky ones, ordered on the morning (just before 10am mind!), arrived on Tuesday, brown oakleys, just the cheap ones, ps no i don't work for them! just to show that a couple have got through
Still I don't think i'll use mycitydeal after this, it was only my 1st time anyway, but this and the other price increase threads make it seem pretty obvious in my mind what these businesses are up to...0
