This thread provides entertainment and should be continued.

The best part was a few pages back when someone gave a comparison quote to beat the UW quote which was squarely blown out of the water, and then their comparison went on to explain how it is better than UW because of the Tesco Clubcard points the individual could also earn. Are you kidding me? The best read I have had for a long time on this forum!

Doubt whether your bosses at uw appreciate this thread for the impression given by their reps "entertaining" us when they come here and post things like this:

Carry on like that and I'll have to get Mr Blobby round to cover you in goo.

The comparison was hardly blown out of the water. The original scenario was that obscure I can't help but think that it was a set up by a UW rep.

As an aside, I asked a few pages back how UW could save me money. Their website is a shambles and uSwitch told me Gas and Electric would cost me £350 more with UW than with EDF. I would bet my scenario is more generic than the scenario a few pages back.

I'm sure UW can't save you anything on your gas and electric (they can't save me anything, either) but that doesn't mean they can't save anybody money, as that post by .Blunty demonstrated. To say they can't would be ignoring the 8 million households in the UK who can't qualify to receive an online utility account on account of them not being on the net. The example shown by Blunty (and the total failure by one anti UW'er to beat it) demonstrates that there ARE people it can save money for. That's all that really matters to THOSE people, surely? Plus, in that example, it was done without teh aid of the savings made by using the cash back card (which can be considerable, of course).

PS Whilst I would hate to appear immodest, it WAS blown out of the water, mostly because it was so poorly researched. But, like I said before, at least he had the guts to go where no-one else (including yourself) dare...

Why don't you ask MillicentBystander if the accusation(that he has posted in support of UW as 1carminestocky, carespress, operastar + other names?)is true?

More recently a banned uw rep returned with an alterego.

He was outed, the evidence mounted, but he continued with his charade.

But the problem was his first post under his alterego (where he had appeared as a happy customer without mentioning to us he was a rep) was there for all to see.

Eventually his uw business card was shown (complete with his photo) via a link. Now he had to come clean or go away. He chose to come clean, then deleted his original post and then claimed he had always declared he was a rep.

When pointed out we had all seen his deleted alter ego post as a happy customerwho was sad to see the way uw were treated here, his reply was that he had "accidentally" deleted that post!

(Now that's entertainment! To delete a post you must hit the delete button three times - what sort of clown does that "by mistake"?)

You were taken in hook line and sinker by Carmine's return under an alter ego:

Welcome to the UW thread, it isn't usual to be 'jumped' on as a new poster......Sorry I can't give any advice regarding the babee card, I have the UW cashback card, .........Good luck.

But by keeping insisting you want proof of his alteregos you seem to be in denial - maybe because he let you down by not coming clean to you after you were taken in by him.

But ask him why he behaves like this - and maybe also ask for an apology.

    Exactly!

As I said in my original post, anyone in their right mind would have chose Ovo at that point but the UW rep had to add the "no contract" line in there.

Give me half an hour and use of a comparison site and I could probably doctor usage figures and a scenario to make UW come out top of a comparison too (but that would only be because I was trying!)

Going by your attempt in post 563 I reckon 30 minutes is very ambitious. It wouldn't have been quite so acutely embarrassing if you hadn't started the post with the immortal line:

    'That's easy' :rotfl:

Err, no. As you proved over the next few lines, it's far from easy when you don't really know what you are doing.

PS Talking of OVO, I'm sure I read during my lurking days that you posted to the effect that the Managing Director of Ovo (how do you know him, btw?) predicted that they would have 1,000,000 customers by the New Year 2010? I'm assuming you must have believed it or you wouldn't have posted it. Did it happen?

First of all LOL @ "Lurking days" you mean when you were busy posting under one of your many other user names?

No I dont him and I have absolutely no idea if they managed it or not, frankly I dont care, I'm with them now (been with them since July) and very pleased with them. Prices are fixed (WAY below UW prices) and they give the 3% interest on credit (much more use to me than faffing about with some stupid prepay card)

Hows the Sainsburys basic curry sauce diet going by the way?
