    Hi MillicentBystander

Quentin doesn't like it when he's asked to 'prove' things and give proper example. If you press him or her he runs and hides away till it all calms down, which is why he hasn't come back. Now if you had come here and told everyone how terrible UW were to you and your family Quentin would be over you like a poisoned rash.

I been looking around at a number of boards on this supposedly 'expert' forum and to be honest the same people seem to spend an inordinate amount of time attacking people for the choices they make. Not sure if hey are being paid to do so but to be honest I would NEVER come to this site looking for advice. There are too many biased opinions on both sides. As you said yourself, you made you own mind and that's what everyone should do.

Don't bother answering Quentin, Cardew and the rest of the ridiculous shower of 'no nothing it alls' I have no intention of rising to the bait that no doubt you will try and get me to do.
  • Thanks for the info, Mike by the Sea. Interesting info. Disappointed about the Sainsburys decrease TBH but in my case that would seem to be tempered by the Asda news! Back of fag packet calculations suggest I will 'lose' £1/mth cash back from January, I can live with that (I'm assuming M&S is staying at 5%, though??) I'm surprised (and pleased) about Asda joining the cash back card scheme as I didn't think they did 'stuff' like that?

Anyway, thanks for the welcome and info. Talking of info, where has Quentin gotten to?? :D So far, I've been extremely disappointed at the discrepancy in what he promises and actually delivers.

    Hi Millicent

The ASDA news is good, as you say it is unusual for them to get involved. We have just got a new store opening this week, so not long to wait for some extra savings. The details should be coming through with the November bills.

The latest info shows M&S still at 5%, with some going up to 6% (Mothercare, Toys R us, Next etc) and some even going to 7% :D (The "Jewellers", Thorntons, TGI Fridays etc).

The "Clubhouse" is also useful with the "Discount" Directory that can show up some additional opportunities.

I noticed that Boots are at 8% until the end of November. Add that to the £10 of Boots points for each £50 spend which they seem to be doing quite frequently at the moment, soon adds up to "loads of money".

I wondered where he'd gone, I'm assuming from what you say this is what he usually does when he has no answer? Oh well, as my mum used to say, 'it takes all sorts' :D. I'm just surprised how someone can appear so confident in what they are saying and then crumble so quickly when asked a few simple, straightforward questions....

We all wonder why you come here:

100% of your posts are made in this forum.

You keep telling us you are never going to return but always do.

And you keep returning to post in support of the uw which you keep telling us you are happy with (and thank anyone posting in support of the uw), yet this seems a sham.

As elsewhere on the net you post saying how unhappy you are with uw.

And this unhappiness is so severe you will no longer promote either it or its products.

So what is the message you want us to take from this split personality?

Some examples of what keggs has to say about uw elsewhere:

Your £28/month could be reduced easily - see these articles:

Then you could use your card "cashback" for yourself instead of having to use the uw risky card and them taking the so called cashback for themselves.

Whilst we are on the subject of not keeping to one's word, how about giving me an example of how I personally can get a better deal, now you have graced us with your presence again? The links you provided have proved useless to me unless I'm missing something....

PS I already reduce the £28/mth considerably (usually to approx £9). I was given to believe from your initial confidence that this could be beaten. Please enlighten me as to how...

If you read the articles you say are no use to you, they show you how to get landline/weekend & evening calls/daytime calls for 5p each for just £8/month, and bb from £6/month.

Compared with the £28 you say you are paying now, that looks a good starting point!

The £9 you are claiming to pay just isn't true, your bill is £28! The "discounted" figure of £9 is misleading. In order to get the cashback discount you say reduces your bill to £9 you have to spend £400+ every month using the risky prepayment card atselected stores!

Why not buy cheaper bb/phone in the first place. Then any savings you can make by getting discounts on your shopping would be yours to keep for yourself!

Maybe the ban you got was for multiple rule breaking (eg was the URL you posted really a spam one to your own company?)

You were recently exposed as a UW rep after you posted in this thread but didn't declare this.

Now you do it again! More rule breaking!

(If you were banned how you got back again?)

For heaven sake Q you are so tedious. Your friend, Ypaymore has already shown you're wrong so just let it drop. You are rude and bullying in your tone. Even in your reply to MillicentBystander who was just asking a nice question your reply is nothing less than rude rude rude! I think you should soften your tone and allow people to comment without you bullying them.

Are you comparing like with like here? And how would I go about getting this deal, please? And what would you suggest we use to get a comparable level of discount on our shopping that we are getting now?

I have to pay £400+ every month? Of course, how else would we live?? Drive our cars? You are beginning to sound desparate.

I don't see the problem as I was paying that figure to those shops for years before I had ever heard of this company. What card do you use for cash back on your spend? That's a bit like saying your BT line rental bill is actually £14 odd when it is actually nearer £12 because you have chosen to pay by DD and opting for paperless billing as a condition of getting a reduced bill. I note posters in this thread have quoted figures of less than £14 for BT line rental but you've accepted that at face value. Strange. Surely if you were being consistent in your argument you would have informed them that their bill was actually £14-odd?

Fact is, the amount I pay Utility Warehouse for the package I've outlined is approx £9/mth. I don't pay them £28/mth beacuse as a consequence of me using their cash back card they credit me with between £18 and £20. Every month. On the bill. Before I pay it. Not a difficult concept to grasp unless you are hell bent on arguing for the sake of it...
