You originally posted this when talking about your deal with UW:

Yet when asked to give us the proper details of your deal in order to help you with, you stonewall by telling us you don't want an "argument"!

So, do you really want help?

Of course, hence my questions to you regarding the babee card. Why does there have to be an argument? You know about the babee card and I know very little (the site doesn't give much detail) so i am asking for help. How can that be construed as stonewalling?

There is no argument is there?

You told us half the story about how good you think uw is.

When asked to give us the full story so we can help with your telephony/bb costs you stonewall and deflect onto a different topic altogether!

On the face of what you have told us you have fallen for the busy fool approach of uw - get expensive utilities from them, then part pay for them by way of using their risky card to earn cashback which they take off you to go towards paying the bills!

Is this really happening? :o I've just asked you for some info regarding the babee card so i can see whether it's worth me changing my phone/broadband deal for a better one as the deal to me all hinges on the cash back I earn from shopping and you won't help me? Why not? :(

I'm not sure what info you want from me but i have the 40gb download package, phone line rental and inclusive weekend calls. I use the card to shop mainly for groceries at M&S and Sainsburys, along with fuel. I also shop at my local Asda (within walking distance) but use my Amex card here as I don't get cash back from Utility Warehouse. Now, if the babee card would be better here, please let me know. Cash back normally comes to approx £18-£20 per month which is then deducted from the bill, which normally is about £28 depending on level of calls made.

If you can help me get a better deal, Quentin, I would really appreciate it.

I was not recommending the babee card, just bringing it to a posters attention.
IIRC I said do your own research.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

No problem, but I'm not sure why my post was immediately jumped on (not by you, btw) as I actually do have experience of what I was describing (could it really be construed as recommending? :o) I think, for me, it's a very good deal. Whether it is for other people only they can weigh up. It's not like I signd up on my neighbour's recommendation without looking into its viability for me. I really don't understand what has just transpired on this thread but ce la vie. If anyone is willing to give me the answers to my questions on the babee card (it doesn't look like Quentin is happy about doing so) I would again be very grateful. Surely someone on here uses it?

I'd suggest starting a thread in the credit card forum as you would get more replies.

Welcome to the UW thread, it isn't usual to be 'jumped' on as a new poster. Yes we do have new members who are UW reps posting as satisfied customers, but we have also had several new members over the years, who's first post is on this thread warning people to stay away from UW and they never seem to post again! Both sides are as bad as each other and its obvious what is happening! ;)

Sorry I can't give any advice regarding the babee card, I have the UW cashback card, I have my phone rental/calls with them, and I'm happy with the card. I get a nice sum of caahback (especially with Xmas coming!) and my parents also use a card linked to my account. Maybe somebody will come along with more information, or there maybe a different section of MSE where you can ask the question.

    Good luck.

Your £28/month could be reduced easily - see these articles:

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/cheap-broadband

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/home-phone-calls

It's possible to slash line rental down to £8/mth with free evening & weekend calls, daytime for 5p/CALL and half price to mobiles too, maybe saving £100s a year.

Then you could use your card "cashback" for yourself instead of having to use the uw risky card and them taking the so called cashback for themselves.

Thanks, janninew  I think I'll wait to see if Quentin can come up with a better deal. Failing that, I will phone them and ask them myself.

Thanks for that (although I have to be honest i wasn't expecting a link to loads of MSE info, rather what YOU would recommend in my circumstances as you hinted at in your post in our 'conversation' but I guess that's not going to happening, is it?) :D. After all, as per your request I did provide you with full details so that you could suggest an alternative. As regards the card 'cashback' in this respect, what card and what cashback do you mean? Genuinely confused as to what you mean here. :o Do you mean the babee card?
