No you could have posted under Andy1047 in the the first place but you choose to set up another user name and clearly got out of your depth when some of the stuff you posted was challenged on accuracy.
In fairness i do recall you declared you were a distributor in your first post under the other user name, but you attempted to spam this site with your UW domain which you removed after i ponted out that it was against site rules. Do UW still take a dim view of spammers?
Only abuse can ban you not an individual poster. Someone probaly reported you for advertising your uw site before you removed it.
Knowing full well you should declare an interest you then come here and make posts under andy1047 without doing so,and still continue to do so.So you havent got a leg to stand on .
See the original post in this thread.
Where MSE says- All Telecom Plus Distributors must declare it when they post
- All workers or those related to other utility companies must declare it
- There are to be no abusive comments, accusations of fraud.
- Anyone breaking the above rules will be barred first of all from this board, and if they persist, from the Forums as a whole.
Will you also clamp down on other users who work for different utility companies and don't declare it when they post? I agree that the rules at the front of this thread should be followed by all, at all times, not just when it suits or they think its relevant to the post. Basically if you work for ANY utility company, then you must decalre it when you post on this thread!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Opinions on the overall level of Customer Service provided can only be subjective. I suspect that the vast majority of customers with all Utility companies are perfectly happy with the service they receive; indeed you have been consistent in expressing your satisfaction with UW's service - if not their prices!!
However it is perfectly possible to be totally objective about UW gas and electricity prices, and they are well proven to be just about the highest in UK; and of course the reason why you changed from UW.
However the point of the latest flurry of posts was Andy1047 as a UW salesman, coming back onto this thread and posing as just a satisfied customer.
I'm perfectly entitled to give my own experiences as a UW customer, just as some users give their own bad experiences (especially quite a few new members on here - mmm!!):heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Yes you are.
But not many folk with a prepayment card or phone take the time/trouble to post a glowing reference to the phone company or card issuer.
That is why we are warned by MSE Martin about the possibility that some customers have a vested interest and "over claim" because of the way uw recruits customers using network marketing.0 -

Well I must be the exception then! I've had a good experience with UW and have no vested interest what so ever, sorry that you might not like that, but its the truth. People post their bad experiences on here, I like to ensure people know there are some satisfied customers and I'm one of them.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

sorry that you might not like that,
I don't mind at all. I just pointed out the warning we are given about people posting who possibly have a vested interest. Their network marketing has resulted in each rep having on average just 9 customers who will be drawn from their friends/family in the main, so it is right to be wary of glowing references, (especially when you only have the card and phone)
But pleased you saw the light regarding their expensive energy prices and went elsewhere.0 -
Thank you Ypaymore, your comment on me admitting I am a ditribtor is honerable on your part.
I would like to make a couple of comments about your post if I may?
I did not set up another username to post before. The banned name was used by me for 7 years since I joined the forums. Therefore the posts where honest and up-front. It is the new username (Andy1047) that has replaced the old one. This was done by me emailing the admin of this site and asking to be reinstated. They agreed because I did nothing more wrong than having a bad username. I have never been out of my depth; I have just been speaking with a person that doesn't seem to hear anything except what suits! The accuracy appeared tained as I could not prove my early posts; which you have now confirmed - thank you again.
I did wrongly use a domain name in an early post. This was pointed out (by you) and I edited the post straight away (again, thank you for agreeing to this). The only other domain was for another job I have which was my original username. There was never any underhandedness in this. It is a name I often use on sites - and this is now changed too.
Your last point; " [FONT="]Knowing full well you should declare an interest you then come here and make posts under andy1047 without doing so,and still continue to do so.So you havent got a leg to stand on ". I think this is answered many time already; including by your good self.
I am sure there are those out there that will find more fault in this post but I feel that issues on this forum are a very hot topic that will always provoke heated debate.
Regards to you Ypaymore

Hi everyone!
Wow this thread has taken off since I was last here lol!
I dont hugely like the approach many people on both sides of this debate have taken to be honest, and I appreciate that as an admitted distributor people will just automatically disbelieve me when i'm say I have no ulterior motives here, but can any of the "anti UW" half of the debate confirm that for SOME people, taking only 1 service, they have a great deal?
I'll give 3 examples. Yes, they are rare cases, but all my customers are. I'd rather be ignored by the bods at UW and forego lots more commission if it means being honest with people I sign up and just looking at how much I can save them, so this is what I do;
1) Shop owner being screwed by BG wants an "out" from his compulsory 2-year rolling contract so he can spend some time (which he doesn't have at present) finding the cheapest deal. Signed electricity (business rate) with UW with no minimum contract and will leave if/when he has time to find someone cheaper.
2) Me who spends around 3000 minutes on the phone to landlines from a mobile every month, pay £12 for sim only deal which lets me do this at no extra cost).
3) My partner shops in store at Sainsburys, M&S, Boots, and Mothercare on a weekly basis. Takes UW electricity (admittedly can get cheaper elsewhere) but makes a profit on her UW bill due to the "cashback".
Yes some points made by Quentin and others elsehwre are TOTALLY TRUE and as a company UW are in some ways shocking, but in those 3 cases is there a way to get a better deal in their pocket can someone tell me?
If so thankyou and i'll honestly let them know. It's those sorts of people I believe that UW are a good deal for (along with people who dont use their home phone, stand alone line rental isnt too bad).
Thanks everyone, and do please ask anything about UW and being a distributor and I promise to be honest, i'm no fan of a lot of things about UW (which makes me an unusual insider I guess).0
