From what you've said I think you're in possession of quite a lot of mis-information and there also seems to be a lot of misunderstanding.
If the person who has introduced this to you is fairly new to the industry, there might well be areas which they are unsure of themselves.
It's very straight forward and legal, find someone who can explain it to you then you can make a fully informed decision.
Potentially yes. I never said it was illegal. It just sounds too good to be true and why not just go straight through UW rather than this Magic Pill?0 -

P.S. Maz, do you know of anyone who has been successful in making money from this?
How do I know UW approve of this business model?0 -
I did pass because I didn't feel as though it was something I wanted to do.
The way I see these things, if you are into networking and marketing then you will be pretty much be successful at anything in that type of work. You see the amount of people doing avon/betterware and giving up because it's not sustainable for them. I wasn't motivated to do this because I felt it was a similar model.
I just see if a company can afford to pay a cut of the bills to a chain of people then why not make the bills cheaper and encourage value as the main selling point rather than you make money for doing nothing etc once recruited.
I also found it difficult to understand why they weren't on comparison sites and how they were making guarantees to be the cheapest all the time etc. Almost too good to be true as surely everyone would be with them if they were cheapest all of the time..?
I see someone driving around in a branded logo'd mini where i live and again, it seemed like you had to pay for that, so the only people guaranteed to make money is them and overall, I felt if this company let me down, I would be the one left to face the people I had signed up. I would rather be in more control of that as people buy from people....0 -
Adamc, I'll repeat what I said earlier. Speak to the person who has offered this to you and get your questions answered from someone already working in the industry. From the other replies you've had on here, there seems to be quite a lot of misunderstanding and conjecture about network marketing and you need to speak to experienced people, not guess work from forum members who don't have first hand experience.
When you have all the information you need and your questions have been answered adequately, then you can make your decision based on facts.
As a UW distributor myself of some 5 years or so, I can tell you that some of the replies you have received here are at best, mistaken although well meant I'm sure.'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'

Where is this money coming from? Are customers paying more for their bills than they would elsewhere? It sort of makes sense to pay people per customer they recruit as a UW distributor. (I know UW are legit). But this Magic Pill site ... I don't know if I can trust it. Anymore thoughts?0 -
Post up the link to Magic Pill. On the face of it, it just sounds like a distributors recruiting site but I'll take a look for you if you like.
You won't get unbiased opnions throwing out your enquiry on a forum. You'll get people like me who are established distributors and will be accused of attempting to recruit no matter what advice I give, you'll get people who tried it and didn't like it for whatever reason(s) and you'll get people who don't have full understanding of how network marketing works! You'll get a similar mixed bag of responses if you google for reviews.
Did you come across the Magic Pill site yourself or were you directed there?

I have googled and found the site.
The site is set up by a senior group leader to recruit people. To me it sounds like you join and become part of his team. Just as someone would become part of your team if you recruited.
They will look to offer you support and direction I am guessing if you join through this site. You can go direct and no one above you gets any money on what you or your team makes if you recruit further.
I don't think there is any additional cost that this person is getting and i don't think it will make any difference to your earnings as such from what I can see but I think from what I have read further, you earn up to 6% of what your customer spends (up to being the operative word - just as its up to £50 a sign up). I will assume this is for a customer who has everything with UW and not just gas/electric etc.
I understand the model that UW get a cheap salesforce as they do not have pensions/ni contributions/sickness issues/basic wages etc to cover but I still don't get how they can offer a double your money back guarantee if the UW client does not save money and afford to pay out % of the bill amount to a line of people down the levels of distributors involved.
Maz- I seem to recall a lot of arguments on the site with UW distributors coming on here so I understand your hesitation to start offering info. I seem to recall poor customer service complaints/accusations being made but not sure if that was the case or not.
I can't see an issue with the magic pill site in that you are going to get ripped off by them but I would just offer the same advice as i would to an Avon rep or Betterware rep.
Clearly if you have say 10 people you know you can help and you speak to them first to see if they will support you and once they have experienced the service you get them to do the same and speak to 10 people and then become a distributor.. You will soon be at the top of your own little pyramid of distributors and qualifying on their spends etc..
It relies on effort from the distributor and getting people to buy into it. Clearly if you can recruit 100's of distributors through a site like the one you have seen, it means you have to actually have less of your own customers to make money as you earn off the back of everyone else's.0 -
Just googled and found it too, Going by the dates on upcoming events etc it looks like it hasn't been updated for a while so some info may no longer be relevant but obviously I haven't read all of the site content.
You really need to have a one to one conversation with an active distributor!!!! Starting to feel like a bl00dy parrot now!'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'
