  • I must just be lucky, having seen some of the horror stories here. I offered my breadmaker when we upgraded. I was honest and said it was an older model, but thought it would be a good way to see if you got on with breadmaking. A local person took it from me, and seemed very grateful. A couple of weeks later I got a LOVELY email saying that her school age daughter was chuffed to bits and trying all kinds of recipes, and that she was now looking out for one for her mum, who had seen hers working and was also impressed. That kind of feedback goes a long way in my book.

I've conducted a huge clearout of the house today and posted 12 things on freecycle. All 12 things were collected and away from the house by 2pm today.

Unbelievable, not one person pulled out and I had zero noshows. Bracknell Freegle take a bow. Very impressed.

Alright, you can all continue with the unreasonable requests now!!

  • I often offer items on the Bedford freecycle site on yahoo and don;t get any problems with items being collected although I do get a few emals which are worded in a way that the emailer seems to believe I have offered the item to them personally!

I also am amazed at the amount of Wanted ads that have started to appear, and there are usually more Wanted ads than those offering items. Some of them you can understand why trying on there as for specific unusual items but some of the wanted ads are just unbelieveable, but certainly amused me.

Here's a few that amused me:

I met a teaching colleague a few years ago in one of the more "lively" parts of town who'd been given as a Christmas present from one of the kids one year - an Ann Summers "toy" - given with the really cheerful line from the kid that "my mum says you can have this cos now she's got the new boyfriend she doesn't need it anymore"... where's the vom smiley?
