A couple of weeks ago, when preparing my daughter's room for new beds being delivered, i was hoovering their room and my hoover went bang, literally lol. I posted a wanted for a vacuum and received a bagged cylinder one, from a lady collecting clothes from me that day anyway....a few weeks on i have got an upright bagless one which is better for our needs, as we have a large family & a new pup too i need to hoover a LOT, so i offered the cylinder one -

My ad states - Hi have a small cylinder vacuum cleaner up for grabs, it's a bagged type and in working order, brand is pacific.Sorry arrange collection by email only - no telephone numbers.'

I got this response - My Niece just moved into a new flat and hoover is all she is missin. I live in ******* and can collect.

Please confirm address, make of hoover and I will collect.'

Found this a bit annoying really, for starters i stated brand in description, secondly if you 'need' a hoover, should the brand really matter?

Another person asked for it, said could collect anytime and when i asked would morning be okay, they said they were off to a local retail park and asked me ring their mobile!!! arrrgh no i did say no phone numbers and don't see why i should pay to give something away!
If google doesn't know it, how should i?
  • Seems to be a day for the rude (see my previous post above) and the ridiculous:

"Wanted: flat screen/ Tv that i can wall mount

Hi im after a Tv for my living room which i can wall mount as i only have a small but long living room my current tv takes up to much room. looking for a 30in + the bigger the better.

will collect from *** to *** and local areas as i drive

    many thanks"

I think I'm going to ask if anyone has any spare Krugerrands lying about in a drawer they no longer have a use for as I would like to cash their gold! :rotfl:

  • Well since friday my freecycle has been overrun from posts by two idiots posting nonsense with loads of obscene swearing in etc. I know I've reported them a number of times, and a few members have posted want ads asking the mods to take action and nothing so far, very annoying!

The food thing reminds me that a few years ago in January I got a number of those Tesco Christmas hampers reduced to something silly like £5 a go. There were a number of things in there that I didn't want so I advertised all the food stuff, plsu some of the coffees (short dated) and biscuits and someone from a shelter charity asked me for them.

We agreed a time and they didn't turn up, nor did they turn up on the second occasion so as I was going to work we agreed that I would box them securely, leave them on my doorstep marked 'for XX charity to be collected and they would be around shortly after I left to collect.

At work I got a really irritated phone call to say that they had turned up (late!) but i hadn't left the items, got a lot of nastiness about charities not repaying petrol costs and how they had gone out of their way to collect. I pointed out that I had left the items packaged exactly as they requested and also that they had failed to turn up on two previous dates to collect in person, but apparently they reported me to the mods.

Goodness knows who took that parcel but i hope they enjoyed the christmas puddings and orange marmalade with their specilaity coffee.
