Oh i love this thread!!! I have had a few things from freecycle- me and my bf have lived together for a year and me being a student etc have found it very helpful.. Im jobless atm but decided to offer up some mugs and glasses etc to help some other couples/ students/ new house owners etc out and even put that in my listing. I could proably sell them but i wanted to contribute...
i was totally gobsmacked by the replies..one just "ill take them" like they are doing ME a favour!!!
No-one said please so i have listed them on ebay now..i am starting to dislike itNeed a new start..wheres good to live in the UK?!0 -
flowertotmum wrote: »Hi i have left freecycle due to these types of !!!!!!!!!!s...i advertised last yr an xbox not a 360 ...it had controls and games..i thought it would make some one happy..i got hundreds of replies and going through them was a night mare...i ended up giving it too a woman who in her emails told me that they were hard up and almost down and out...i gave her my address ,she then asked for my postcode and it was for her bloody satnav!!!!!if you can afford a car and a satnav then you can buy an xbox..i withdrew my offer..she complained to the mods but they can't make me give it to her..i gave it to a lovely man in the end who used his manners and turned up with his son to fetch it..it made my heart melt to see the boys face light up...freecycle is a good idea but unless they get tough then you'll always get scroungers..
Some old satnavs are worth very little. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320589473918 You can't say someone's not hard-up just because they have a car and satnav.0 -
This Classic todayJust wondered if anyone had a Digital SLR camera lying about. I am looking for a recent model, minimum 12 megapixel with more than a standard lens.
Something like 28-55 and 55-250/300
Ideally Canon or Pentax.0 -

The bit that gets me is who would have an expensive camera just "lying about" waiting for someone to ask for it...

I responded to an elderly ladies request for all household items for her neice who had been in a homeless hostel for a year and now had her first home. I gave loads. Two days later at a Boot Fair I saw the bint selling half my house! I didn't say anything cos she was so old and gave me a box of Quality Street on collection.0
