After I posted the message received from 'hoodie for a fiver woman' on my local freecycle five other members came forward, saying she had tried the same trick or treated them to some nasty fishwife-style messages.
The group owner then banned her.
As for buying clothing from her, just the thought makes me feel itchy!0 -
Not sure about this one that appeared on my local freecycle earlier today ?
I'm 27 years old, i still feel like a child and i've had to say goodbye
to my mummy & best friend. My mum was very proud that i had made such a
lovely home for myself from all the things that freecycles gave me. my
last post was for a wedding dress, she didnt see her little girl get
married so i want to make sure the church is as pretty as a wedding. So
if anyone has any silk flowers/ oasis or flowers that i could cut from
your gardens please help me to give my mum a special day. x
Aww bless her. Looks like she wants the flowers for her mums funeral.0 -
Just had this come up on mine:

hi have been watching one and injoyed it
Well get your backside down to a charity shop or bootfair then.0 -
I actually read this thread and posted on my local one for a cummerbund or a loan of one (but not black - it's for a function and not a lodge meeting or dining out). Bet I am onto plums with that. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

I'm sure my husband used to have a purple crushed velvet cummerbund and bow tie - I wonder where it is?
I see things wanted on our Freecycle and know I have whatever it is, but by the time I've located it they have posted they've received one. I've more or less given up posting offers, either there's no response, or it's not collected. Someone on ours was asking for any style Orange mobile yesterday, and our local Argos has brand new cheap ones for £5 + £10 airtime!0 -

and guess where this reply is going................Hi there,
My name's ***, I am ***. My friend kindly introduced me to this useful resource, which hopefully will help my younger sister and I with recent unfortunate circumstances. Devastatingly, our father passed away suddenly last year and we are currently struggling (and have been for the past 6 months) to repair and re-furnish his house so that we can live comfortably there. We hope that the kindness of people on this site will help us get it to the stage where it liveable for us, as well as also freecycling things that we no longer need to individuals who may be in need of them. Things are particularly difficult at the moment, especially financially, so I am considering this a priority at the moment before we can move on. Your kindness is truly appreciated so much, especially those that have been using this for a while and are committed freecyclers.
I am interested in the item that you posted; *****.
Please get back to me asap if this is still available and I will be sure to collect as soon as is convenient for you, and happy to collect if you place the item somewhere for me. My contact number is ******. Please get in touch.
Many thanks,

at least they said thanks.
I responded to a very similar request on our Freecycle earlier this year as I had a pile of stuff in the garage that I'd tried and failed to car boot myself. The lady was very polite, came to collect promptly and I was more that happy to offload it onto her and wish her better luck than I had shifting it.£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250
