Just seen this one, I can not understand why they have not claimed on their contents Insurance, or why they don't have it?? Same with when I see people say 'My Bike was stolen and can't afford a new one', I know some Insurances don't cover Bikes outside the home, as ours doesn't but we covered them for a few quid more a month for outside the home.
Anyway here is the post of the day
'My daughter had her new laptop stolen but she did not have insurance to cover replacement so does anyone have an old one she can have please? Even if it not fully functional my nephew said he will try and put it right. Many thanks, Elizabeth'0 -

it is quite possible that with the excess on their insurasnce they can well afford not to claim.
my husbands bike WAS stolen.... the insurance DID NOT cover it becuase it was in a locked shed. the extra bike insurance (which was not "just a few quid" more would not have covered it anyway becuase it was locked away on the premises and not left laying around at Tesco. seems our insurers was a loose loose situation. besides which even if it was covered at the precise moment in time we could not have afforded the £50 excess on it!!loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
I have seen a few people asking for cars now - never seen anyone offering one though - woud be asking for mailbox meltdown !As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !0

The excess amount would be taken from any amount paid to you, before you receive it.0 -
We have a bright yellow van as our everyday car. We're not traders
I assume though that when you collect you go to the door and ask for the item? My dealers tend to come to the door and say 'collecting from your freecycle ad' and when you ask what item exactly they are collecting (as i may have offerd a few) they don't know.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Urgh. I offered an old ironing board on Freecycle. Now, the one I put it on covers a small area, no more than 2 miles in any direction. The lady said yes she could collect and can I have the address please. I never give out my address without a definate time, so I asked for a time, told the the approx location. Her reply? "Sorry it's too far" Seriously? How is 2 miles too far? I always put my town-location in the title0

Does anyone know how to look up past posts by people on freecycle?
I found one lady by using her email address but the other email is not recognised.
I want to give my item to the one that puts in the most into the group if possible0 -

The only way I have found is doing a search for the email address. I wouldn't use this as your only criteria though as there are people (myself included) who mostly give stuff away by replying to wanted adverts, but don't post that many offered adverts on the group.0
