Freecle / freecycle and balloons on sticks

Just saw this:
My friend and I go away for weekends in his campervan and it seems that every other van is occupied a small dog. Sadly we both live in flats and can't have a real one and we are beginning to feel like outcasts from the camping and caravanning community. We would prefer to rescue a lifelike stand in if anyone has one that needs rehoming. We promise it will get to see lots of new places and travel in pride of place in a loving new home.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: that is PRICELESS!!!:rotfl::rotfl:loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

It made me think of those kids toy ones, anyone remember those? Really fluffy and white, had a plastic lead, made yappy noises and 'really walked'
They could always have a house rabbit, and take out out on a lead when camping :rotfl:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Lol i have left freegle but just this week offered my daughters faulty ds on Freecycle since my 2 year old son broke the ds games slot and i have no idea where to begin with the repair despite the parts being cheap i dont fancy soldering!!, It's an older style one and i am through with selling on ebay myself after the last person attempted to scam me with kids clothes, and ebay refunded her! I offered it on there with the intention if someone else has a faulty one, make 2 good from one or something but the amount of 'cant afford a ds/disabled child' stories i have gotten, sorry but if you can't spare £30 for an old working one on ebay how could you afford the repair, charger & games! oh and the styluses? and running a car how? I have no car and 4 kids and 2 weeks back when i was trying to offer a well used double pram, a lady wanted me to meet her 35 miles away! (she would pay my bus fair, couldn't just pay her own and come here like you are supposed to?)
Offered a portable today and said must go asap, the lady that wants it cannot pick up until the 7th because she has no car yet, despite me saying it has to go today! why's everyone's cars broken on freecycle and all the ebay sellers have items that are on hols with family members?! (daughters new ds, ordered 7 days ago,not yet posted but serves me right for buying from seller with stock photo in wrong model!)
People think i'm rich because i offer, but 6 months into moving i still havent got new carpets upstairs, wonder if anyone has any new unused rolls in pink, blue or black they could possibly deliver, for free, before Monday? haha as if! If i want something i get a lift, or a van, or a taxi but rarely apply for items now.... I once picked up someones cracked fish tank and a broken exercise bike after paying for a van, reoffered because i couldnt use them, (not mine or man in vans fault they were broken already)...then was accused of picking up items to reoffer them? lol i then ended up having to pay for a skip for said items, atleast i saved the person who gave me them having to do so though? Have had some okay items but barely worth asking for stuff now, car boot people can get there in 5 mins if it is valuable or if theres 'more than 3 binbags full with no babygrows in to make it worthwhile and do u have pics'
'can collect anytime'
'can you collect this evening?'
'hiya i'm 20 miles away and car is broken':rotfl:If google doesn't know it, how should i?0 -

This was on ours this morning, at least they know they are cheeky
hi everyone.
i know this is probably a bit of a cheek but if anyone has any stuff that is
suitable for a car boot, we are doing one soon and would happily come and
collect it!
We would be very grateful - just raising extra pennies for the family holiday!!
thank you so much

you could argue that if you didnt want stuff anymore then it does not matter who picks it up - but Im going off this way of thinking as I`m not keen on these white van men ( of any nationality ! ) picking up several lots of items a day to sell on ( without even a thanks mostly )
Suppose that theres differences of just wanting rid no matter where or just wanting rid and knowing that someone really needed that specific item and can really make use of it
( but then the white van men REALLY want that item - in so much as they want ANY item ,and they could really make use of it ........ by selling it and converting it into cash for holidays etc! )
Hmmm !..... - overthinking this now ! :cool:As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !0 -
I am sick of picking things up that are either broken or stained (clothes). Yes, I do ask for things - that is the whole point in it (what is the point in somebody offering something if nobody is going to ask). The amount of times I have done somebody a favour by going to pick something up and then taking it straight to the tip (picked up a matress once, was described as "good condition, hardly used, very comfy". The springs were poking through, there were stains all over it and part was ripped. It went straight the tip)
I had one very cheeky person ask about the large quantity of items I had. I stated that I would prefer them to go for fundraising for a charity (yes, I could take them a charity shop, but I wanted to give other charitys a chance). A couple collected promtly, in their large white transit van. An e-mail 30 minutes later thanked me for the items and said "Unfortunately, these won't be going for a charity this time as the kids have decided keep all the stuff" Seriously?? Why would you email me to say that for? She got reported to the mods but I still have her asking for stuff now.0
