My essential list for the baby. Please help if you can:
    - changing mat
    - cot mobile
    - baby projector
    - cradle with mattress
    - bedding for cot and cradle
    - cot bumper
    - cot mattress
    - baby girl clothes 0-6 months
    - blankets
    - hooded towels
    - muslins
    - baby toiletries
    - baby hair brush and nail clippers
    - sling
    - growbag egg or other room thermometer
    - swaddle blankets
    - dummies
    - avant teats
    - reusable breast pads
    - sleeping bags
    - maternity dressing gown
    - exercise ball
    Thank you

    Essential!

I had very few of those things for my 3 children. I didn't even know there was such a thing as a baby projector until I googled it.

There is so much on that list that is not needed. Out of the 22 items listed I had 6 of them.

  • Essential for the baby? Presumably the baby is the one who will be wearing the maternity dressing gown and using the exercise ball then? I and my then-baby son had about half the items on that list and we got on just fine.

I'd be tempted to reply that although I couldn't help much with the items on their list, I'd be happy to give them a few spare commas which they could obviously use.

    WANTED: newborn (Merseyside)
looking for new born boy and even other item plz

I doubt many people will have one they want to give away.

    I've got a 23 month old............ but they'd have to collect. :rotfl::rotfl:

Those other 2 lists just SHOCKED me. My baby essentaials was just that ESSENTIAL!! I also made sure I could afford mine (a rare occurance nowadays apparently).
AND she DOES realise you should NEVER use an old dummy - I didn't change mine every recommended 3 months but would never use one another baby had had images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRKBPxKXfEXaHtWL9ZjJFpp8zEZnaWYdSN3Bn0ztXeD0QGm1Gik

I've given a few items away on our local free glue group, but the begging/sob stories make me so upset and angry. It's all so unnecessary, I want to give the item away, you want it, no need to tell me why, just be polite!!

Politeness always wins out, but even then often people don't show up.

The last few items I had, I put in the freebies section on Gumtree as an experiment.

All replies polite and items collected the same day! I wonder if its because they have to seek out the listings rather than it all just landing in their email inbox?

I've had good experience of replying to offered ads on freegle, with one exception. A listing for the bed frame, the man asked for me to send a pic of me to help him decide who to offer the item to!!!!

You may not but some do and think we are mind readers. About two years ago a TV was offered on my local Freecycle. So I asked politely for it. Did not hear back. About a month later same lister and TV offered again. So I asked again. This time I got a reply wanting to know everything about me apart from my inside leg measurement :( and what I was planning to do with it. So I politely replied again, and stated that I wanted it to watch and was it was still available? It was and I eventually was able to collect it, but it was hard work. Had it not been a specific type (no it was not a flat screen TV) I would not have bothered. Or had the lister stated his T&C's in the offer I would not have bothered either.

"Offer- 6-9 man 3 bedroom tent. Unfortunately it has no poles. Can anyone use it for anything, or has poles and no tent."

Not entirely sure how you'd manage to lose all the poles.

I've taken to emailing the no shows, thanking them for wasting my time, and telling them they are now on me and my friends blacklist so don't bother asking again. Probably makes no odds to them, but I feel better for it.

This made me smile! Now I know why my teenage sons are so lazy… must be their dressing gowns!

    "Offer"
" hello, i have a dressing gown which i love and is so warm but i must get rid as its making me lazy, its black and says size s/m with chest size 41, its black fleece and all i do when i come home from work is wear it, so its now on the washing line after being washed and free to a good home :)"
