I have done this, she has said she can collect sooner. Will give her the benefit of the doubt for now.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

If she doesn't, don't feel guilty about moving onto the next person. It sounds as if you've given her plenty of chances.Mortgage when started: £330,995

Right, as Potteries Freegle mods couldn't be bothered to reply to my email about the reseller, if you use Potteries Freegle be wary of Claire360844 who posts as retired 'Brian' the watch enthusiast. An enthusiast he may be but what Claire/Brain don't tell you is this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/2066claire/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3984
£1500 turnover in watches over the last 30 days according to Goofbay. I wonder how many of those were donated by unsuspecting Freeglers who thought they were giving to a 'retired enthusiast'?
Fix them and sell them on by all means, but be honest enough to tell people what you are doing!!0 -

perhaps post (as i've seen done) a tongue in cheek 'wanted'wanted: a bit of honesty.
It has come to my attention that a user of this freegle group is decieveing people by requesting broken items for their retired hobby. what they don't mention is there hobby is actually listing them on ebay and making a lovely turnover every month.
Is honesty a bit too much to ask.
Notice they are not listed as a business seller?? with that type of monthly turnover the taxman would be interested!! (am sure there is a way to report them..... perhaps someone on the ebay boards can advise).loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

Ohh chicky you clever little devil you! I'll give the mods another 48 hours to reply, my latest email did express my disappointment, then if I hear nothing I'm posting!0 -
I have offered all sorts on freecycle, freegle, freebay etc. but people have just taken advantage. examples include:
- Someone turning up and thinking i had offered my brand new dyson instead of the old one ready packaged up by the door, woman turned to me in all seriousness and said well i really would prefer that one, i mean you could keep this one after all it goes better with your carpet and that new one matches mine!!!!
- I offered a carry cot from my pram, stated it was the carry cot only 3 times in the listing and some woman turned up and said to her husband well you can push the pram and pointed to the very expensive one sat in my hall way. i told them i had offered the basket only and she went nuts telling me how she had had such a long drive and thus i should refund her petrol money! in her email she said she was from a local area.
-I offered some childrens toys to later see them all on ebay as a bundle by a man with the same user name.
-Finally and probably the most annoying... i offered an old tv and was asked well can you deliver it, i said yes locally... he asked me to drive a 100 mile round trip!! then when i said no he told me to "go and **** myself then"
I have had quite a few event less collects but barely ever a thank you
the one time anyone was truly grateful was a midwife collecting used baby items for women in the women's refuge she came and collected and was lovely, very thankful and even gave me a thank you card and i got an email from a woman who had received my sterilizer and a bundle of new bottles that i didn't use thanking me
I hate to see people asking for things like PS3s, Wii's (but only in black!!!), Iphones(preferably 4 which at the time was new for my disabled son!), xboxes, laptops etc. its a real shame as it is such a good idea but it is unfortunately abused. i would love to use it more but really cannot stand some of the people who ask for the items cheek.
Mods sort it out and give us freecycle back0 -

I thnk Freecycle/Freegle should only be used for stuff that:
1/ You don't think will sell on ebay or gumtree (or you can't be bothered selling on ebay or gumtree).
and
2/ Charity shops do not want it eg old electrical/electronic stuff. Or the item is too bulky or whatever to take to the charity shop.
At least if you give it to a charity shop, it will generate income for charity, so it is going to a good cause, rather than to an ebay seller or some greedy person.
Freegle/Freecycle should be the last resort before the tip. If you only ever give it away on Freegle to avoid it going into landfill, then it doesn't matter who gets it or whether they sell it or whatever, at least it isn't going into landfill. As long as they collect it promptly and are courteous and non-annoying0 -

Please check with your local charity shops first! I volunteer in Age UK and we accept electronic items, have them tested and then we're free to sell them. I'd hate to think people were dumping their electronic stuff because they mistakenly believe charity shops can't take them.I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.0 -
A local furniture project charity has the contract from local council to collect electrical items for scrap and recycling too. They will take anything white goods, tvs, little radios etc.0
