I have listed Dr Who trading cards for anyone that wants them earlier today on both freecycle and the yahoo group as I have thousands of cards from the three series (Battles in Time, Monster Invasion and the Extreme set).

As I have got so many cards I asked if people could let me know what numbers they needed as I had up to 10 of each card and that way I could help quite a few people complete their collections as I know how expensive it can be!
I did ask if anyone had any doubles I needed as I need a few cards myself but it was fine if they didn't.

The first email I got was someone asking for all of the cards as they had 7 children and they didn't want them fighting over them. Not a please at all, infact the message said:

I will take all of the cards now as I have 7 children and they will fight over them if I only have a few. I can not collect but if you bring them to me I will be very greatful.

    Anyone got a suitable reply?

As per my post, if you could let me know which numbers you are after (I'm happy with 7 lists if that helps) I'll see what I can do.
As I am giving them away for free I'm not planning on delivering them. However, as they are only card size and weight I can put them in a carrier bag for you if that helps. We're a few minutes walk from bus stops on the X and Y lines.

brilliant reply, I have sent that word for word minus the X and Y!

I have over five thousand cards so I think giving them all to one person is a bit daft when I could help several kids complete their collections.

I have just checked my inbox freecycle folder as I recognised her user name and this same person has emailed me every time I offer things on the site, approx every other 3 or 4 months when I have a compulsive tidy up (to make me feel I am not a clutterbug) and the emails then are equally demanding.
I don't mind giving to her but a please would have been nice!

I wouldn't give to her in a month of sundays with an email like that. I'd drop the lot off at a Charity Shop first I'm afraid.

I wouldn't reply at all, just wait and see if any more 'polite' takers appear.

For something like the Dr Who cards id give them to those who are also collecting them.

    Some great ones from today

    Please? Thank you?

So only after 4 months do they decide enough is enough!

They'll probably post tomorrow asking for the clothes to go in the washing machine!

I have 5 new sets of pipes in my cellar. I would willing give them away. Why is that unreasonable? I never change filler pipes when washing machines have come and gone. 3 sets were in cellar when we moved in.

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Brilliant, love it.

She did reply to my email back to her (using JimmytheWig's comments) to which she has said:
they have only just started and have none of them and thats why I send I would have.

Surely if you have just started you would have at least one card or otherwise surely you haven't started?????

I looked up on ebay how much these things sell for and they go for a nice sum so I wonder if shes a dealer or someone who sells at carboots.

Either way shes getting ignored now and I have had loads of replies from lots of mums and dads with specific numbers or are saying they will have a look at what they need and also if there are any I need (bonus result!) with emails that are friendly too rather than just I want, gimme now!
