WHY ARE YOU GUYS SO RUDE? you dont have to respond so negativly to wants.

I have no problem with 'wants'. I have a problem with people who want something, and want it now, and want it delivered, and want it by Saturday - but don't even have the courtesy to say please, or thank you.

That's nothing to do with having a 'way with words' - it's simply about being polite.

They can spell it badly, they can use all lower case letters, they can use no punctuation; I don't care. But to say "I want a buggy, must be excellent condition, must deliver to me by Saturday" with no please or thank you...surely you can see that no-one with a spare buggy is going to want to go out of their way to do that?

People ask for the most ridiculous things - they can't possibly believe that asking for such high value items will get them anywhere. Asking for a large Summer house?! A new Macbook?! A caravan?! And they don't even say 'please'.

I've posted offers on freecycle plenty of times - and I get VERY rude responses. Things like "I'll have it, deliver it to me on Wednesday at..." That's VERY rude! And yes, I'll share that on an internet forum, not because I'm trying to be rude about the responder, but because I'm just so gobsmacked someone can act like that.

If you think it's okay to post wants like that, then that's your prerogative. But I personally find it shocking what people post on Freecycle in terms of what they want. :)

' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".

Think they should name the group 'scroungecycle'.

I've mentally started referring to it as freescroungele

That time of year again, people go camping... without the fundamental essentials of... a tent.
Hi all, we are trying to do a 'cheap as chips' holiday this Summer so have decided on camping. Does anyone have a spare two-man tent, folding chairs, board games, etc? Any offers will be appriciated and I will re-offer after use. Can collect. Cheers!

There'll be another 10 requests for tents for camping holidays by tomorrow morning. Yeah camping's good but the number we got last year who went along the lines of "we're going camping next weekend, does anyone have a tent we can have" were ridiculous.

Asking for a tent is small fry compared to this...

"Wanted: 2-3 Bedroom House-Xxxx Xxxx Area
I am in a Housing Association 2 Bedroom Flat in Xxxxxxxx and I am looking for a 2 or 3 Bedroom House or Bungalow in Xxxx Xxxx. If you are interested in doing a swap and are a Xxxx Xxxx Housing Tenant, then please get in touch."

    At least they said please.
