I thought that was part of the marriage vows, Do you dizziblonde, promise to remember, buy, write out, wrap & deliver all gifts to Mr dizziblondes family for as long as you shall live. (Which also of course includes for yourself, or else learn to smile when you get 2 rugby final, world cup tickets or similar for your birthday & any other celebration, when he's unable to locate the right vacuum cleaner for you.

I had to ask my DH's sister when his parents birthdays were as he didn't know the exact date and I got fed up of the stress of trying to work it out every year! Still don't know when hers is though. :o I keep hoping she'll sign up for facebook.

Well they continue to surprise my husband with their appearance (hence me having his family's birthdays in MY diary to remind him to buy a card - grrr)!

I made it clear from the off that he buys for his family and i buy for mine;) If he forgets, then tough. I'm neither his minder nor his mother and dont see why it falls to the women to sort these things out. I'm just as busy as he is so his 'oh i didnt have time' excuses fall on deaf ears.

That's how we roll in our house too and it works perfectly well. Can't say the same for my BIL though - he & his OH don't seem to talk to each other 'cos for the last year they have been sending us all two pressies and cards each - one signed by him, one signed by her! We have pointed it out to them but it keeps happening so we're not complaining! :D

Are we off topic or what!!

Today we have from the same person - 3 separate wanteds:
A cat/fox electric deterrent so they can leave their new baby bunnies out in the garden... um... supervision? And bunnies dig tunnels, which go under fences and over the hills and far away.
"Some" unwanted laminate... post then specifies for two decently sized rooms - yeah like anyone has two rooms worth of laminate just going spare.
Wii and DS games - with the usual small child sob story attached.

"hi we are after a few things and if anyone could help us out at this hard time
it would be very great full:

any car with bit of tax and test on.(big ask) if anyone has one we would be grateful to take it off your hands

    ladies clothes size 18-22

corner sofa, If anyone is wanting to re home theirs we would be most grateful.

    blender

baby girls clothes from 4 month upwards.

any wedding items will be gratefully appreciated.

    girls toys

    any boxes of assorted items.

if anyone can help we would be very greatfull

if you can deliver that would be great as we are without transport at minute, or could arrange some transport email me with what you have please."

Quite a list, and they want it delivering too! (hence the request for a car I guess!!).. its the 'we need any boxes of assorted items' which is a puzzle, isnt their previous wish list enough? Its like asking for a lucky dip, very random!

I love the Assorted item ads - In my humble opinion almost as good as the legendary FREZZER ads! :D

Am i alone in really wanting to reply to ads for 'anything you may have' type ads with a box of the most random items i can find? :rotfl::rotfl:

Saw a great one today asking for a 1999 model year ONLY Ford Transit wing mirror - Now that is being specific!

We don't get that many unreasonable wanteds - I think the mods keep a pretty tight rein on things. But we did get this great offer recently:

    Offer - decorative aeroplane.
Previously a Christmas decoration, but while Santa was flying the plane, it
crashed. Santa is no longer on board, he smashed to many pieces. It appears to
be made of some version of metal, with thick layer of plastic/resin paint on
    top.
  • lindos90 i saw that one too, just checked my local freecycle this morning!!! i would love a car and a corner sofa myself, hate my sofas with a passion cos theyre the smallest squarest (so uncomfortable!!) things ever, plus theyre beige so not good with 2 small kids!! but they're sofas, we have something to sit on-end of!! i will save up and buy a corner sofa at some point in the future.

Then the rest of the asks + delivery....................to me is waaayyyy cheeky!!
