I find some of these posts really unbelievable. :eek:

I have just checked my local Freecycle (haven't been on there for ages) and there is a message on the homepage from the mods that wanted ads for games consoles, games, tv's (high end items) are strictly not allowed.

i wish they'd do that on mine, thats all thats ever on there now

Another one who needs all the kit before STARTING a hobby

wanted kiln and potters wheel to start new hobby in clay making many thanks

I know someone who did a 3 year diploma in ceramics, and the closest they've come to their own kiln is a fire pit in the back garden!

ohh i've had enough of freegle this weekend. Posted lots of things on it saturday night - numerous "i can collect to suit you replies" which were followed up (at 10 am yesterday morning) with a "great - could you collect today, let me know a time". some still not replied and 2 more came back just now with
a) "i'll have to get a bus during the week which ones come to your house then i'll let you know when"..........nope - i am NOT doing your leg work - besides I never get the busses.
b) "i'll be round tomorrow morning"............ i won't I'll be at work.

No I don't think you will...... either of you.

Another messaged me today in response to an ad i posted today - again "let me know when i can pop round" - i replied almost instantly with "fab, could you pick up before 6 tonight". no reply.

GRRRRR.

I was annoyed by one on mine this morning - Offer of free driving lessons. A driving instructor offering 2 lessons free ... if you block book 10. A free advert, direct to thousands of inboxes. Why don't the mods stop it? grr.

I'm about ready to give up on freecycle - as usual, today's digest email was 85% 'Wanted', 15% 'Offered' or 'Taken'. I'm sick of receiving people's wishlists!

We do 99.9% of the time. Unfortunately the odd one will slip through and once it has been emailed out by Yahoo then there is nothing we can do about it.

Maybe the mods in my area just aren't as quick to catch it, I feel like I get a a lot which mention payment or are a badly disguised advert.

I dread this happening. My list members have a very low tolerance for posts that ask for payment. I can guarantee if one of those gets on the list, the owner email address will be besieged with complaints! I am pretty sure that the culprit also gets a more than a few as well. They don't try and do it again.

I got velvet sofa settee (3x1, 1x2, and damaged foot stool) in good condition.
But we would like to have leather sofa as we got small kids.
I would like to give it away once I find a leather sofa
