On ours 2 & 3 seater brown leather settees wanted but a large sofa & armchair would do at a squeeze, in brown leather of course.
I'm all for things being recycled, when I got my first flat almost 30 years ago nearly everything was donated. My purple nylon swirly carpet did look good with my orange & brown stripe suite & red nylon curtains. Sunglasses indoors were a must have accessory.
It all used to make my daughters hair stand on end once she learnt to crawl & charged herself up every day.
Everybody wants it all now & everything just perfect at once. I enjoyed getting my home together bit by bit.0 -
Hi all, 3rd attempt of asking for anyone who has a good working gas cooker unwanted. Brother and I haven't had a cooker since beginning of January.
Damn us selfish greedy people for not supplying a gas cooker in good working order the first time she asked!
I got a well-ratty reply to me offering a cooker a few months ago from someone who'd previously posted a wanted for one and hadn't had any response (could have been the total lack of the word please, could have been the "it'll need to be delivered", could have been the ridiculously OTT sob-story... getting like the x-factor montages on ours sometimes) who believed because they'd asked the month before the one I was offering was HERS by right and was well-mardy I hadn't offered it when she'd put the bajillion wanteds up (funnily - I hadn't moved house with a cooker to spare then... how inconsiderate of me).
Funnily the email was completely ineffectual and I didn't offer it to her.
Shed season on ours at the moment - been about 10 requests for complete sheds or greenhouses in the last week. Also tonnes of tellys being offered as we're getting up to digital switchover date, so the demands for digi set top boxes will start in a month or so.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -

On ours tonight:
8" trampoline and safety net suitable for younger children. We've replaced it
with a bigger one.
I'm not surprised you need a bigger one if it's only 8 inches across :rotfl::heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I find freecycle hilarious
haven't had much luck with my few & far between 'wants' but my 'offers' have all gone and the people have been really nice too.
Apart from the wanteds for 'american style fridge', 'leather suite in excellent condition', 'laptop no more than a year old' the funniest thing I saw went something along these lines:
'I'm a 19 year old male looking for an older woman for some fun' :rotfl::rotfl:0 -

At least it keeps us 'older women' out of landfill sitesI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hello, I would be really grateful if anyone has a double buggy they dont use anymore. We are going to EuroDisney in July with friends. We both have a toddler and thought it would make more sense to take a double buggy, so that the adult not going on the rides can push the girls round instead of being stuck with two prams. We are wanting a side-by-side one.
so let me see.... you have no manners........ can afford to go to eurodisney........ ermmm NO!loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Ive been using freecycle a lot this week, and the requests are insane! Someone asked for a Wii - i want one too
there have been loads for 'hi,i need everything for my new house' with huge lists of what they need and i know that if you dont ask,you dont get, but im honestly shocked at some of the things people ask for! A lady was offering an A3 printer that i thought would be useful to help my nephew with his school work (he has autism) and she said she had loads of replies but apparently i was the only one who had been polite enough!
We have offered our oven as well as we are getting a new one and it was given to us,the man who wanted it said it wasnt what he wanted and walked out of our flat! So,it seems like beggars can be choosers then.....:mad:0 -
This was recently posted on ours:
Hi All,
We have just had an arrival in a new baby boy, and this means we are on the hunt for sevral things - (we know we shouldn't be to picky, but we would prefer good condition and working items !!)
We are after the following if you can help :-
1 x freestanding Dishwasher in good working order and standard size !
1 x Tumble dryer again in good working order (we have one but it keeps shorting out our electrics !! which is a shame as it is only 4 years old or so !)
1 x Set of White Drawers for baby's room
1 x set of bunk beds for our two other children (preferebly wooden but not overly concerned - we just need more floor space !) but not with matresses !!
We would really appreciate your help with anyone of these things and wish you all, all the best !
All polite enough but talk about bad planning! Surely they would have had at least 6 months notice of "the arrival of a new baby boy"??£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250
