the only way to contact Aldi is via your local store only. No other way.0 -
the viewsonic looks a good buy,but can anybody enlighten us with the problems people have faced with this tv.
Ref Aldi I think they will try to rush out more tv's before the opposition notes that Aldi sold out very quickly...so expect other companies to start dropping prices...Aldi have got to strike while the iron is hot ?0 -
well even i managed to tune it in!! yes the set up was easy, changing from German was just a matter of scrolling down the menu to uk so no great problem, PIp is a bonus stops him in doors from swopping the picture every 5 mins, ( sexist i know but thats a guy thing i think.)
Lets hope it continues to work ok .my bark is worse than my bite!!!!!!!!0 -

First of all people don’t be put off be put off by the contrast ratio of 1200:1. This is good. The new Samsungs LCDs quote 5000:1 but that’s dynamic contrast ratio, not the true lab reading which is quoted at about 900:1. No LCDs ever give the quoted contrast figures. Response time of 8ms is great!!!
It could also be worth waiting till after Xmas and the new version of HDMI will be out then HDMI 1.3, twice the bandwidth of the current HDMI 1.0. In Laymen’s terms its USB 1 compared to USB 2. The PS 3 will be HDMI 1.3
Also I would not recommend an LCD TV over the size of 32” (37” max). This is due to motion smear. Think big think plasma!
Also the higher resolution TVs are coming through now 1080p, much smother than 1080i which is what 99% of LCDs are capable of at this time. You can expect to pay around £1200 for a branded 32” 1080i LCD…. And that cheap!!!
I recommend a Panasonic TX32LXD60. This is great value and a great all round winner with 2 HDMI’s and component ports. Best of all if you use his code when you buy from Dixons (online only) you save £50 (perkz50dix)… making the TV a bargain £727 Inc free delivery.
