  • I think £700 is a good price for a 32” as you can pay £600 for a Sharp but that extra £100 gets you a Panasonic or Toshiba both with 2 HDMI ports. If you consider that a good quality HDMI switcher is around £100 (I said good quality) its £100 well spent.

It’s not cheapest but if you want that I believe Woolworth’s are getting stock of 32” HD LCD for around £400. Bargain price but won’t compare with the market leaders.

Its all personal opinion and preference. I’m just trying to use my knowledge and experience to help people on this forum.
  • Has anybody bought this and found a code for the SKY+ remote ?

And those who bought the Aldi 40" TV this week. How does it compare to 40" LCDs seen in shops?
    Nice to save.

No one has mentioned or expressed an opinion of the Hyundai LCD TVs eg the Q321 etc. Very good reviews and superb prices (approx £599 for 32") so, those in the know, what d'ya reckon?

Hi, almost bought one of these but was scared off buy reading a huge thread on another board which started off with good reviews then it seemed slowly most of the posts were about problems many owners were having with dead pixels and a supposedly awful in-built digital tuner.

Thanks for that irv. Anyone out there actually got one of these Hyundais?

Am unable to make up my mind about Aldi's gear as some products are either extremely good value for money purchases OR I'm beating a path back to the store for yet another refund 'cos the thing doesn't do what it says on the box!

To hear that some people are already apparently experiencing issues with this new 40" LCD TV means, to me, that either quality control sucks or the development is premature. Either way, it doesn't really inspire confidence, does it? :undecided

Yup, you're right, yer pays yer money...

  • I think it would be informative all round if anyone who got a 40” Aldi LCD or knows some one who has one leaves a simple review rating as below.

    Score out of 10.

    Black Level 8
    HD Picture 8
    SD Picture 8
    Sound 8
    Build Quality 8
    Day to Day Viewing 8
    Motion Blur 8 (i.e minimal 10, lots 0)
    Value for money 8

    Problems:

    Good Points:

    Other Info:

We could do this for all the LCDs we own just include the make and model

Not a bad idea. Would be more inclined too buy if people who already had one reviewed it!

The problem is. I don't think most people here are that experienced with different tv's to be able to give grades in comparison other existing screens. Makes one man's 10 another's 5 if you see what I mean.

I see what you mean, and it's also a possibility that they might want to save face by not declaring that it's disappointing when they've spent all that money on it and may not be able to take it back.

There seems to be a lot of people announcing how quick they were to get one but not being quite as quick about telling us what they're like????

Maybe the Tevion 40" is a brilliant bargain or perhaps just a white elephant...it would be nice to know???
  • I see your point but if anyone does want to review there TV feel free.

I don’t see why anyone would mind be truthful about there set. Its not like we know each other.
