There was at least 2 available in the Lincoln store a few days ago as I was in two minds whether to get another. I use consumablecafe for my refills.0 -
I got a Konica Minolta 2400W for £179 from Staples and some branches still have them at that price. It's 5 ppm colour, 20ppm black mono and 2400dpi. New cartridges from Staples would cost £380 for a 4 set but refills, or just the black at £80 would cost less. Ink jets are no good for me. I print infrequently and spent more time cleaning them than printing. The colour laser has been a good buy so far.cello57 wrote:All cheaper laser printers are mono. Colour laser printers are available but cost about £250 for a VERY slow one. Expect £350 for anythng decent - and most of them have FOUR cartridges to replace . . .
I'd stick to inkjets for low volume colour -although these too are expensive to run unless you refill cartridges and all that palaver.0 -

I saw a Samsung Colour Laser CLP300N at a Computer Show, it is currently the smallest they do and the print quality was superb. The guys from Samsung quoted about £150 + vat but I have yet to see it below £220
Tempted to check this out further when the prices come down.0 -
I bought this same printer from Staples less than a month ago for £54.99 - I'll never go back to inkjet. Laser is so much better - quicker, quieter, better quality printing. It has a relatively small "footprint" too - not much bigger than the Canan S200 it replaced.
Re the USB cable - when I was in Staples and asked if it came supplied with a USB cable I was told "no" but then suddenly realised that as the laser printer was going to replace my existing inket I could use the USB cable already used to connect the inkjet - doh!0 -
I normally get 3m USB leads from Poundworld...Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:

I managed to get PC World to price match + 10% of the difference (they were selling the same printer for £79.99 so that meant an additional £4 off!) so got it for £35.99. Took about 15 minutes though while they checked prices, stock etc, but worth the wait (Had SWMBO hanging on to a printer in nearby Comet just in case!)0

comet don't seem to be selling this printer anymore. if you click on the original link you will get a product not found page. doing a search on the comet website for 'laser printer' only reveals two products, neither of them being the one listed in this thread.

ScouseLad wrote:This is a fantastic buy. I have had one for a year now printing out hundreds of pages for college. The toner that comes with it is good for approx 1200 pages but if you use the toner saver button you can get upto 2000 pages.
Its fast quiet and pretty good quality for the price. Only thing is cheapest i've found the replacement carts is £35 however you are looking at nearly 3500 pages once installed.
Happy printing
Andy
i HAVE SEEN THESE TONERS AT WWW.INKDEPOT.CO.UK, 35 + VAT INC DELIVERY, HOPE THAT HELPS0
