  • Does anyone who owns this have feedback on how it copes with printing large docs with graphics?

I bought its close rival HP Laserjet 1020 recently to print comic books, and have been very disappointed both with the line quality (dotted) and its inability to cope with large docs.

    Thanks.

Graphics quality is good although it is slow. I doubt this would be any use for large docs as it only has 2MB RAM installed and this isn't expandable.

This printer almost certainly has a toner crtridge thta is only a third to a half full. I've been filling an earlier model of samsung laser with refill powder with excellent results. see: http://www.refilltoner.com/MachineProducts.asp?id=SA1610&manu=Samsung&mach=ML%2D1610

Well I've studied my 1610 cartridge and it doesn't have a refill hole like the earlier models unfortunately.

Parallel is dead, long live USB . . .

As a long-term IT person, a comment on cables. Cheap cables may appear OK but may degrade over time, also the contacts at either end can get loose, especially if you are disconnectng and reconnecting a lot. Also not so good over longer cable runs. Like hi-fi, money spent on good cables is seldom wasted.
  • this samsung printer is extremely good.... I had 3 in last 6 months and printed about 60,000 sheets they fill very easily about 3 or 4 times and then I sell them
    new cartridges are about £30

Comet site is not behaving itself.......... I suspect they have sold out

Wilkinson Plus are offering a Lexmark Printer Z735 for £30 in their WOW Specials category.

Think you probably have to go into one of their shops for it though it is listed on :

    Happy girl!
  • It is SO annoying when they won't post to Northern Ireland!!!! Must be even worse in the highlands of Scotland - they are on the mainland, for goodness sake!
