... so you need to factor in £2 or £3 for that. Makes little difference, but couldn't see that mentioned here.

Hi all,
Bought this printer about 9 months ago. Its a good all round printer that is ideal for the average user. Most costly part is the consumables.
Don't get sucked into the offer from Comet. There are hundreds of web sites offering this printer for the same price. I bought mine online ( I will check on Co. Name) for £37 all in. So best to do a search before you go buying at Comet.0 -
If you want a choice, https://www.dabs.com is selling an HP Laserjet 1018 for £50. A bit more expensive, but still a good buy.

Also do remember laser printers have other consumables.... fuser units etc. Although to be fair these will last quite a long time.0

use one of these in the office as a backup and for big jobs (pricelists) if the main printers are tied up. no problems at all with it, a great unit!0

Notice that it comes without the printer cable, and they invite you to add one when you order it which costs another £12, making it not suh a great buy after all, but if you have one already from an old printer...
also, wasn't Comet one of the stores taht was selling returns as new as while ago? I think that Dixons was the other. If you don't get a new sealed box, complain!0 -
Yes, the Samsung ML-1610 laser is an extraordinary bargain at this price. I've had mine for 6 months plus and thought I'd done well paying about £58 at ebuyer.
It has worked perfectly - reasonable speed, excellent print quality and much cheaper to run than an inkjet.
BUT DON'T PAY £12 for a USB cable. ebuyer have them from £0.51 inc. VAT.
Cartridges? The one supplied with a new printer does about 1,000 sheets, replacements 2,500 to 3,000. Replacements cost about £45 new or re-con £25 from Cartridge World. I have bought theirs and they are fine.

I've not seen a printer yet that comes with the USB cable.... so Im not sure this affects the 'bargainism'
I've had a few other samsungs thru work and they did come a parallel cable... does this one?? 0 -
I recently bought one for £52 from ebuyer and for the money I'm very pleased with it, just don't expect it to last much beyond the warranty period, but at this price who cares.
One dissapointment, unlike the ML-4500, ML-1210, and ML-1250, the ML-1610 cartridge doesn't have a bung you can remove to refill with toner. Also it seems a bit fussier about paper quality compared to earlier models.

Does anyone who owns this have feedback on how it copes with printing large docs with graphics?
I bought its close rival HP Laserjet 1020 recently to print comic books, and have been very disappointed both with the line quality (dotted) and its inability to cope with large docs.
Thanks.0
