  • I bought one of these about 6 months ago for the same price. Its not bad as laser printers go. Idean for home use. New 2000 Page Toner Cartriges come in at about £31 from CCL Computers (cclcomputers.co.uk)
And No it didn't come with a USB cable to conenct to the PC.
  • Staples stores have this printer for 49-99 and I'm sure there was a £5 off £30 pound spend somewhere on the MSE.
  • to refill the ml 1610 printer.............. I will look up the site and post it asap

if you take the cartridge out... it has a folding handle
hold it in front of you...... the right hand end/side is where you refill
2 screws ... one near middle, one near top end....

We phoned up staples and were told they don't do it anymore. We wanted them to because they do a 150% price promise.
  • I use one all the time. Got it from PC World on their price match promise. At that time I showed a Staples advert as proof. Suggest if they are nearer to you than Comet then get them to price match. I have a ready supply of old toner cartridges and refill the Samsung quite easily, but do it outside on a calm day - as the powder is filthy and "travels well".
  • there is a picture for another samsung model here which is very similar

they sell toner plus detailed instructions
also these people sell toner with detailed instructions
    http://www.kmsmedia.co.uk/acatalog/
you get abottle of toner with instructions

the "bung" is under the plastic plate which is held on by 2 screws

this samsung printer is a real deal if you have a go and refill it yourself. the cartridges are about 40-50 quid, so not too good there, but to refil they cost about 10-12 quid for a couple of refills. it is easy to do and i haven't noticed any different results in the years i have been doing it.

look on ebay for the kits.
  • I have a slightly earlier Samsung model than the one listed and am now on my fourth full refill. I bought my toner from http://www.cartridgeco.co.uk, but initially used their freephone number for advice - 0800 195 7462. I tend to refill the toner cartridge outside on a warm dry day to avoid potential mess.

I have ordered a samsung 1610 from pixmania.com, I was just wondering regarding the refills. I have a full toner for a dell printer no longer working, could I use the toner from that and put it in the samsung cartridge does anyone know?

well its a great price - but its from comet and if it goes wrong you may be stuck with it - just look for posts on comet on this site.

to get cheap cartridges for this printer try
    https://www.box-shift.co.uk
as they do great ones much cheaper than the originals.

also if you do some research you will find better lasers for a little bit more but are much cheaper to run.

my hp gets a 9,250 cartridge for £40 and using the software settings it will do double that.
also some places do an older hp printer that is a recon - but they do many more pages per cartridge.

have lots of recons as low as £22 + delivery and they will be much cheaper to run than the samsung, but the samsung is still a bargain at the price.

    hope that helps
