SAMSUNG LASER ML-1610 - 39.99 was 79.99 (CLOSED)

Update note 7 September 10.30am!
Online stocks have sold out again. We'll update this post if they come in stock again so keep checking this discussion and we'll put another note in the weekly email when there's new stock.

Update note 5 September 2.24pm!
Comet has informed me it has 2,000 new printers in stock for online delivery at this price (and more instore). Yet this is likely to run out relatively quickly. If that does happen, then rest assured I willl keep putting notes in the weekly email whenever there is new stock. Martin

What's the offer?

Comet has cut the price of its Samsung ML-1610 laser printer* to £39.99 (now plus £5.95 delivery). This is a very competitive price for a black and white laser printer which tends to produce much higher quality prints.

Though always remember with printers there's the cost of new cartridges if you print a lot. Laser printers tend to have expensive catridges, but they should last substantially longer than cartridges on other types of printer

It's available in-store too

The printer's also available in store, nationwide, at the same price. If you don't know where your nearest Comet is there's a store finder on its website here. Though of course there's no guarantee of availability in individual stores so you may want to ring up first.

The printer doesn't come with a printer cable but it's possible to pick one up from ebuyer for a couple of quid.

Be Quick

Always double check the price and availability. When stores see high demand (and the weekly email certainly generates that) they can increase the price - or then again it may sell out.

If you spot a cheaper laser printer elsewhere please click reply and tell people about it

  • That's cheap compared to ebuyer, I think you can get a 10% discount code at hotukdeals for this and cash back via Quidco!
I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!
  • This is a fantastic buy. I have had one for a year now printing out hundreds of pages for college. The toner that comes with it is good for approx 1200 pages but if you use the toner saver button you can get upto 2000 pages.

Its fast quiet and pretty good quality for the price. Only thing is cheapest i've found the replacement carts is £35 however you are looking at nearly 3500 pages once installed.

    Happy printing

Thanks OP, just bought one. LordGardener, the 10% disc is only available for HiFis though I think.
  • I bought a Samsung printer the ML-1520 a similar model. It's a great little printer, but I bought some refill powder, opened the cartridge, put some in, screwed it back together, and it worked fine the first time i refilled, but since then when i refill the pages are not heavy print. You can just about make out the print, but it is not great. So you either buy the original cartridges or look for a different printer i guess.

    Anyone else experienced this?

  • I have the Samsung ML-1510 and I think it uses the same cartridges as the ML-1610. The cartridges quite expensive (around 70 pounds), but I also bought the refill powder which is very cheap compared to the a new cartridge. I found it printed find and like new.

I found that it printed out fine. I popped off the cap, poured the powder through the funnel, put on the new cap and gave it a good shake.
  • It worked okay for me the first time, but when i refilled it, the second time, the refill powder didn't print as well as fresh powder, even after I'd printed plenty of test sheets.
