My friend used one but didnt put it far enough into the toilet and all the pooey water exploded up out of the toilet covering her and her entire bathroom:eek::rotfl:

I have had to put my hand/arm down to unblock our toilet before now. We tried everything and it was the only way to go.
The upstairs toilet always blocked if you even had a small poo so that became the wee toilet and the downstairs one, the poo toilet. Not too nice as it is in the hall between the kitchen and lounge (not very private!) We had a new bathroom two years ago and it felt like luxury to be able to use either!0 -
Any news yet tara? As unfortunate and embarassing as your situation is, I have to say it has brightened my day, I was feeling a bit grumpy until I came on here!
When someone blocked the loo at uni my friend literally had to reach in and grab it. You can also get stuff to dissolve blocked drains, it's like the stuff that clears the plug hole in the shower if it gets slowed down by hair but it's for blockages that are filled up by water. They have it in tescos etc.
I hope you have a second loo, we had to go into a pub about 10 mins walk away. They gave us some strange looks! :rotfl:

Hmm curse of the giant turd....
Only thing I can think of really is to get perhaps some good stiff cardboard and try to break it up in the U-bend.
Good looklol
Hubby just told me you need a toilet auger - maybe pop down local DIY or something see if they have one if worse comes to worse rofl.0 -
My son often produces turdzillas but he's yet to block the toilet. We have had blocked drains three times now though and Dynorod are a godsend - sign up for a British Gas Homecare policy and you can call them out as often as you like (but they start to complain if you do silly things like flushing baby wipes or sanitary towels).0

Why not pop round to a neighbour and ask for a wire coat-hanger? There won't be any need to tell them what you need it for although I expect your kids will do that for you at some point.
PLEASE don't be tempted to use caustic soda, it's evil stuff and gives off really dangerous fumes as well. The dead kind of dangerous
I don't have kids, if I then no doubt it'd be all over the neighbourhood by now! :rotfl:
I didn't get caustic soda in the end but have tried Coke (slight improvement) and 2 bottles of bleach... and it is slowly shifting. I can't wait to be rid of it. It's probably just lurking at the bottom of the bend - easily reachable to be taken apart. No fancy stuff needed, just breaking it and the paper (which has prob been the major problem) up should do it.
[STRIKE]Two[/STRIKE] Three little points -
1. Super quilted toilet roll causes this. I suggest reversion to standard Andrex if this is the case.
2. When you leave a Zeppelin, flush before wipe and then flush again.
3, Wire coathangers come from dry cleaners.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Caustic soda didn't work for us. But a cheap plunger from a Poundshop did the job!:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

We use Tesco loo roll, not the value stuff, the next one up. I'm too stingy to buy quilted stuff!!! :rotfl: I would actually like one of those little spray hose things that you get in Asia, no need for any loo roll and they are so hygienic.
Thanks for the coat hanger and flushing tips.
p.s. aren't most plungers too small for a toilet bowl? We have one but it's so small it's surely only for a sink plughole...Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs
