Help - blocked toilet :(

I have done a search and found nothing, sorry if I've missed something that's already been posted on this topic.

My toilet is blocked (my fault), had to get OH to pee outside earlier, oh the shame. I have tried a toilet brush, coat hanger and throwing water down from a height. The water just rises to the top of the bowl. I tried bicarb - nothing. I wish I had Coke in the house as I have read that it works. Anyway, I have just thrown a load of denture tablets down there (I bought them for getting the toilet bowl sparkling - Kim and Aggie tip), plus some Cillt bleach stuff, and it is foaming away. Should I just leave it till the morning?

I so wish I lived on my own right now, OH is understanding but still...

Hope someone can help. Off to check on it again now. Thanks in advance.

You may need to remove the pan as the blockage could be just past the S bend.

Nothing doing, although the foam is still there. I am tempted to leave it there all night.

Tara, do you think something might have dropped down or it might be loo paper etc? I know it's horrible, but if you can scoop out as much of the water as possible first. You can put a bin-bag over your hand and arm ( your arm will be smaller than OH's preumably!) and put your hand as far down as possible to see if you can reach anything. Have a bucket handy.

If this fails, have you got a rubber plunger? With little water in the pan, you can build up pressure with a plunger to try to shift the obstruction.

    NOTE
The bucket is for any carp you might get out, not to be sick in!:rotfl:

Toilet brush can do the trick if it is a small blockage, as you flush pump the brush (oo-er) in the loo. It's not pleasant but it sometimes moves whatever is blocking the pipe. If this doesn't move it then sorry but you may need a plumber with a strong stomach :-)
