Just to butt in and add that you don't have to be claiming JSA to be eligible for LHA/HB/CTC.0 -
OP go to interviews but dont mention being at college, they may well not even offer you a job(due to experience). For next year id start looking for a job to start in the summer then when it comes to going back to college either ask if yu could reduce your hours or find some other employment0

OP, just ignore the rude posters. Like you said, you won't be claiming JSA anyway because of your insurance! You take steps to protect your outgoings with the insurance and not rely on the benefits system and still get slated!
Anyway, the OP is available for work. She is available 6 days a week. Is the working week now 7 days???????
Good luck OP

Thanks everyone who came to my defence, I was a bit upset at that silly poster..
I'm already teary because things have gone wrong.. (sad I know)..
I'm not getting anything from the state at this time, I may get JSA for 3-4 weeks, and then that will probably be it.
Thanks to those that have been kind, and sorry for being defensive and jumping the gun, I guess I'm struggling with no job and nothing to do in the day apart from looking for a job.
I just want my old job back.. I'm gutted.. I worked with people I class as friends and I miss them and my old job and routine so much.
Anyhow, got to pull myself together, stop worrying and just try and get a job, or two asap...9/70lbs to lose

I'm studying Civil Engineering, and I love it, it gives me a reason to keep going and I've worked so hard. It's taken 25 years to work out what I want to do and I really can't stand the thought of giving it up.
Good idea about a summer job and then requesting college, DCFC79..

If you find a job and perform well then you might have a better chance of reducing your hours, id start looking when you have 1 or 2 weeks left of college as some closing dates are long so you could apply then start once college is over0 -
Well, I've applied to a lot of jobs already, and I guess it will take a while for them to get back to me. I'm doing well at college, so my tutor would probably let me do more home study if I had to miss a week or two of the 7 remaining, she knows I'll do the research and work from home.
I have always done well in my work, so hopefully something will come along and they will take me on.
I did have an interview today for another retail job as an assistant manager, the same as what I was doing before. Didn't feel like it went well, but he did say college was fine as I'd have to do some weekend work anyhow. See if anything comes of that.
Just want to get into a job again as soon as possible. I hate job centre and hate being unemployed.9/70lbs to lose

I think I'm too late this year.. and don't know how I would pay my bills. Outgoings of £600 a month roughly..
If you have any ideas then please let me know as I would love to get to uni as soon as I could
