Powergen Online dual fuel tariff is due to rise on September 6th.

I rang them this morning to get the new prices, and was astonished to find that my electricity secondary units price (the one you use the most of) is due to rise from 6.98p to 10.21p per kwh............this is a fantastic...46%

I phoned again to check this, and it is correct.

What they appear to have done, is brought the online dualfuel rate upto the normal dual fuel rate....the only incentive I now get is 2% discount for being totally online.

When I switched 6 months ago(after everyone had increased their prices) Uswitch and Energyhelpline showed I had the best deal..........NOW! I am about 20th in both of their leagues......I feel a switch on the cards....

    But isn't that a disgrace...........46%

Although I'm quite pleased to be in the process of switching from Powergen to Ebico I still expect them to increase their prices soon.

Yes, I'm waiting for Ebico to announce their increase, I've emailed them, but so far no response....Powergen have just increased my secondary electric unit price by a whopping 46%........ hopefully Ebico's rise won't be anywhere near that, although I expect it to be around the 30% mark.

    Just found this on Energyhelpline

    21 August 06 Equipower & Equigas announce 31% gas & 21% electricity price rise
Ebico, the supplier that offers gas and electricity under the names of Equipower and Equigas, have raised their prices by 31% on gas and 21% on electricity. This latest price rise comes into effect on 1st September 2006. Their last price rise was in the autumn of 2005 and was over 30%.

The move by Ebico means that all suppliers have now raised their prices recently, resulting in a level playing field for price comparisons.

So its quite a substantial rise....I'll wait and see what the comparison sites make of it.....

I'm confused about who this "Atlantic" is I have entered numerous gas and leccy kwh usage totals into Ukpower and energyhelpline

The cheapest for gas is npower online & npower
The cheapest for electricity is British Gas

I never even see a company called Atlantic mentioned in the lists, Who is Atlantic? Which comparison sites include atlantic?

Yes..thats 4 months ago....The quote above wasn't by me...its taken from the Energyhelpline site.........Are you saying that the playing field isn't level.....and Atlantic may raise their prices again.........but that's possibly why they are coming out top....

I don't know what you are typing in to these sites, or what region you are in, but all of them(the 2 above and Uswitch) bring up Atlantic at the top when I type my details in

British gas "green" tarrif came top for my dual fuel which interests me greatly.

How easy / difficult is it to swap? Whats the process?

How acurate are the online comparisons? I don't really know what my bills are normally as only been in my 9 year old terraced 3 bedroom for 2 months and not had a bill.

I just went to energyhelpline.com, ticked the "i don't know my usage" boxes and then used the simple estimator to say my usage was low (i hope so) and it said I could save £100+

And on a green friendly tarriff I would be very happy!!!
