My cat has gone missing

we lost our cat one evening, he was locked in someones garage, we had to get them out of bed.
We went out about 22:30 shouting his name and it was only because it was so quiet that we heard him meow back to us.
We bought the couple we woke up a box of chocolates but I'd get them out of bed again in a heart beat.0 -
Don't forget to tell all the kids in the neighbourhood to keep an eye out for her, too! They get all over while they're out playing and they hardly miss a thing! Maybe sweeten it and say there's a tenner up for grabs for whoever gives info that leads to you finding her ... they'll definitely keep their eyes open then while they're out and about!
YES, please do this, it's how I got my darling back after some neighburs took her in after thinking she was a stray. Goodness knows how they missed my "missing" posters but she had been gone for about six months at that point. I'd given up hope but it was after mentioning it again that the kids in the street told the neighbours who she was and who she belonged to.
If you're going out in the evening make sure you stop for a bit and wait to hear her miaow back as she might be quite far away, trying to make her way back to you by your voice.
SHE WILL COME BACK HOME! SHE WILL0 -
Did you have any luck in locating her lastnight? If not I'm sure she's had a whale of a time overnight, playing, chasing, and having fun. She should be quite hungry by now so try going out with some food, biscuits, etc and see if she surfaces... thinking of you. Please let us know the progress."Your life is what your thoughts make it"

My moggy went missing a while ago - she'd been locked in my next door neighbour's garage for a week! I was frantic and the minute I got her back, I put a jingly collar on her with a tag engraved with my phone number - just in case she ever did it again.
She's chipped but I'm not sure how many people would find a 'stray' and take her to the vets to be scanned??
Anyhoo, OP, I'm sure your mog will come back to you, safe and sound. They're little beggars for scaring their mums!0 -
oh yeah, they waltz back in without a care in the world, they've had a great time and seem totally unaware, that we've pulled half our hair out, the other half is now grey and we're quivering wrecks.
They just come in and meow, where's my food mum.
I always say it's a good job they're cute0 -
Hiya, still no sign of her.:(
I'm going to give the local cat and dog home a call soon just incase someone's taken her there. I can't believe she's been gone this long.:(
My son woke up during the night saying she was at his window and he could see her, even though the blinds were closed. Poor wee soul had been dreaming. We still had to go out with torches searching for her to put his mind at rest though lol.
We've lots of people keeping an eye out for her, so hopefully she'll appear soon.
I keep thinking I hear her the bell on her collar ringing. The house feels strange without her.:(
Thanks again everyone for the kind messages. I'll be sure to keep you all updated.0 -
Cats are territorial so I'm certain she won't have gone very far. The odds are that she's got herself locked in some shed or garage nearby, someone will go there and open the door and WHOOSH she'll be at the back door0

Keeping everything crossed for you OP.
My indoor cat went missing for a few days last year, we emptied the hoover bag outside and about 11pm at night she came crawling out from underneath a car covered in oil. I would suggest that if it is safe to do so you go out as late as possible when there aren't so many people about and call her. Look underneath all cars. Also start knocking your neighbours doors and ask them to check their sheds whilst you wait - otherwise some people will say they will do it but not bother.
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2097227 - this was my thread, hopefully it will give you some hope - try to stay positive, I know it's difficult but cats are very clever animals and there are hundreds of fantastic stories out there with cats returning after days, weeks and months even.:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
Thanks for the link to your thread princessleah, it's given me hope! Glad you got your cat back.
My next door neighbour has just told us that she was at her window yesterday, but she didn't know she was missing at that time, good news that she's still about though!
Also, today I've had 3 big Tom cats at my door!
Does anyone think this could mean she's nearby and they're looking for her?0 -
I think it's a dead cert that they're looking for her (new talent on the block) and that your babe is probably quite nearby.
Fingers crossed for tonight's walkabout and calling session0
