    Hi there,

I totally know what your going through as one of ours went missing out of the blue 2 months or so ago. The next day I was knocking on doors and handing out flyers. We also drove round the local area shouting her name. I was in bits, couldn't sleep and very teary. Thankfully she came back (after what felt like an eternity) 2 days later.

I think that you are doing all the right things :)

Have you contacted all your local cats protection and RSPCA as if she isn't microchipped she may have ended up there waiting to be claimed.

We also (and I know its morbid) contacted the local refuse authority who keep a log of any animals found at the roadside. I know that is horrible to think about but it was the 'not knowing' that I hated.

Best of luck, fingers crossed xxx

Don't forget to post ads on www.animalsearchuk.co.uk and www.nationalpetregister.org - there are lots of other sites out there as well just in case she has wandered a little bit further away.

Sending out positive vibes OP x

  • You've just had a new floor fitted - does this mean that there were some floorboards lifted at any point? If it does, I would suggest lifting one in a room with carpet rather than hard flooring and listening very carefully.

I hope your exam went ok - what bad timing!

It's hard for you right now but please try not to be discouraged, and keep looking for her. Don't be shy about knocking on doors and putting fliers through letter boxes and tell everyone you meet about Jinky's disappearance. The more people who hear about her and see her picture the faster she'll come back to you.

Don't give up hope....they are resilient creatures and she is probably off partying with all the local Tom cats! Someone above mentioned floorboards...well if you read princessleah's thread you may have seen my Murphy's story....6 weeks missing under my neighbours house!! had to pull up her floor boards to rescue him.

Jojo: the OP said that the nieghbour has seen their cat on their windowsill, so one hopes this means that the cat isn't trapped under the floor.

She's not spayed so is most probably running the gauntlet of the local tom-cats
  • Ah. She's probably pregnant by now then. But I'd go out at night and listen for the sounds of cats yowling and fighting, as she'll probably be somewhere in the area.

I read a story on the BBC website yesterday about a cat which had been returned to its owner NINE YEARS after it had gone missing. It was found half a mile away from home.

I'm sure the OP's darling also isn't very far away, it's just a matter of finding the little blighter
